It would be great if those eight gay couples could legally marry anywhere in the US rather than having to travel either into Canada or into Mexico. But the narrow minded, bible thumping screwballs are going to do anything in their power to prevent marital equality from becoming the law of the land in most of the US, especially the South and parts of the Intermountain West.icon_sad.gif

You know I think they are more worried that once you guys start smashing apart the hetrosexual institution of marriage, no one knows were the destruction will end. Prevention is better then a cure.

But it you guys were really progressive you would move away from the term marriage and adopt Civil Unions, and they can be for everyone; now how inclusive is that. As well you would see less resistance. But sadly all many see is their wants and thats all they care about. Marriage is a hetrosexual institution, with deep embedded roots in religion, thus the religus have every right to a voice on this topic of Gay "marriage".

I being in a long term relationship of 20+ years, have no need for some piece of paper, to say I am loved; because I am without it.

Oh Hawaii being a progressive State now has Civil Unions that are inclusive to all, they just started this month. So no you don't have to leave America to commit to another.

    Catch up:

    1) You don't need to be married or civilly unionized to commit to another. That's not what it's about.

    2) It's been many years since gay couples have had to leave America to get married.

    3) It's nice that there are states that recognize legal unions of whatever kind, but the fed government hasn't.

Honey I am in a 20+ year relationship, and since my country Oz is more advanced on human rights, I have had access to Civil Unions for a number of years now. But we don't see the need.

Oh I know it's been sometime since Americans did not have to leave the US, and Hawaii, is just another choice they now have; yet ther are thos who still want to play the victims.

Then Obama was big on making promises to get the gay/bi votes, but thats all he wanted, and thats why you did not get the change he was to promise.
