There's been a lot of threads lately about the Causes of Gayness

But does anybody enjoy being gay?
    Or better put....

Would you CHOOSE to be gay if given the choice?

    I love being gay
I wouldn't change it for the world
    How about you guys?

For many years I wished I was straight, and if I could have changed I would have. But now that I have fully accepted myself, I love it. I enjoy being gay icon_smile.gif

Im not sure I can fully answer this question until after I come out to my family. On one hand I dont want to deal with the negativity attached to being gay. On the other hand I love when im able to just be myself. Being with a man is just an unbelievable feeling. A feeling I never really had when I was playing it straight.

I've gone back and forth. Today? Don't mess with what is as it could be worse (alimony, child support, kids who hate me, etc.)

Well if I wasn't gay I would be somebody else so to me it is a question that can't be answered.

But to be honest if anybody should be gay it should be me. I like being around guys, like guy things, etc.. Never had many women friends.

I've been asked this question before. My friends have asked this question in a discussion and my answer is always the same:

"We all know being gay isn't a choice, but hypothetically speaking, if I had been given the choice before birth I would have choosen to be gay."

The reason is simple: being gay has expanded my horizons in ways a lot people couldn't imagine. I think whenever you are part of a minority or whenever you are thrown out of the "comfort zone" is when you really grow as a person. I wouldn't be half the person I am today if I was born straight, I can assure you of that.

It's the way I've lived my life that past five years though: if there's an easy route and a difficult one, I'll always pick the difficult one without failure. For one, because as mentioned there is immense potential for growth there. For another because I think if you take the difficult road you are pretty much guaranteed the best possible results.

My friends on the other hand all have said they would have chosen to be straight.

I think that being gay seems abit more interesting to me, i could do without the homophobia and stuff but being gay also frees me from some of society's man laws

To me, looking for a 'cause of gayness' implies that there is something abnormal about being gay. I think gays and straights alike think that they are so different from each other, and as a man who's been on both sides of the fence it's really not.

To me being gay is a blessing. It has taught me to enjoy life, outside of the box.
I am me, and I am free. And if it was my "choice", yes I'd be!

Would I CHOOSE to be gay if I had a choice? Probably not... but I doubt that many people would.

On the other hand, I am not unhappy that I am gay. Its a huge part of who I am... and I wouldn't change it now for anything.

Its part of me... and part of the reason why I have the personality, outlook/views that I have.

I'm glad that I can say that now- because a couple years ago I never thought I'd be able to icon_smile.gif

I'm not gay anymore. I'm a fag. I don't have a place in the gay community, and live in the str8 world. But.....as a homosexual.

Would I choose to be a member of the gay community, hell no!

If there was a button to push, would I push it? Hell yes.

But would I then go on to date women? Hell no!

So if One was to push the button my life would not change all that much. The net is the most and just about only interaction one has with homosexuals. so my group of friends would not change.

I don't have sex anymore, and I am happy too be in control of my dick, and emotions.

So if One could change it, not all that much would changI suppose it would allow One to be religious if I wanted, this would be about it.

They both have their advantages, but I think the following would make me lean towards choosing gay if I had the choice:

    1) The whole locker room and gang shower thing.

    2) Much less pressure to have kids as a gay couple.

    3) More sex than straight people.

    4) As much as I love women, I never could claim to really understand them, try as I might.

Of course, you can't really answer this question until you try them both out, but luckily I did.

A few years ago I'd have said 'straight'. Now, however, knowing how fucked up most straights' sexuality really are, I'm happy to be gay. icon_razz.gif
