So as I'm enjoying a quiet New Year's Day laying on the couch, I came across the Cross Fit Games on cable. All I can say...HOLY CRAP! icon_eek.gif

This ridiculous stuff...very cool (and great to watch as these men are in awesome shape). So I was wondering, how did all you RJ'ers who do Cross Fit get started? What drive you to start? Is this something to start after you've been working out for a while or can anyone start?

Did I mention these guys look amazing??icon_eek.gif

I would guess you just jump on in.

I don't do it myself (but I think I'm going to start soon). But there are alot of people at my school who are into that stuff, I prefer to do cross fits without weights.

There's alot of different workouts you can start off with and eventually you can get to the heavy stuff.

You just discovered this now? Cross fit has been the crux of my fitness routines for like two years now. I am sure most of the guys on RJ if they have a killer body, have used it in one form or the other.

    Why did I join Crossfit?

My globo-gym / Men's Health workouts were getting boring and I wasn't necessarily seeing results. Plus I realized I needed professional coaching and competition to drive me to work even harder and more effectively. Now I'm obsessed.

Anyone can, but you will have to go through some sort of basics/ foundations training... I have been doing it for two years and it has seriously changed my life and fitness expectations for the better... If you are serious about being healthy, fit, strength gains and movement CF is for you... I recommend it to anyone seeking to be fitter.

I've been doing CrossFit for a few months now and I'm hooked. I lost 23 lbs and 6% body fat since I started. My strength and endurance has improved as well. Each workout is different every time I go to the gym. I've also found the CrossFitters are the best group of people I've ever worked out with. Encouraging and friendly unlike globo-gyms I've worked out in before. Find a good CrossFit gym that focuses on proper form and technique and you'll get amazing results.

I am going to start Crossfit training this come Spring. All the training centers I researched my area require that you take a basics course to learn all the fundamental moments first. Even though I can't wait to start right now I am enjoying TRX training!

I've heard of it but never saw it in action. I'm curious to hear what pushed these guys to adopt this over other competitive sports...
