Imagine a political system where you can't say ANYTHING about your opponents, but only state what YOU will do and how you'll do it. Then results will based more on good ideas than who slung the most hash.

This group of republican Candidates would be left with nothing to talk about, because they have no new ideas, only ideas of going back in time. repeal this, repeal that, and repeat the same old bush mistakes that got us where we are right now, broke from his war misadventures.

    Right. Everything is Bush's fault.

Well this post just killed the whole idea of the thread. That's too bad. Oh well.

But what will the democrats do then? I know Obama was great at making promises, with his change, and to some it may of sounded really good, but it just hasn't happend.

Sorry Obama has given the people of America change in their pockets.

This simply is not true...You sound like an MSNBC talking point now. The current GOP candidates may not be your cup of tea, but to say they have "No New Ideas" is kind of disingenuous. Perhaps the fact of the matter is that you are so hell-bent on your "Neo Con" blah-blah-blah that you haven't been listening. Even Herman Cain had the 9-9-9 plan. Rick Perry has offered up a streamlined tax reform plan, Mitt Romney has his "51 Point Plan", and even Jon Huntsman's plan was applauded by the New York Times.

No, some of it is yours.

Not surprising considering all he does on nearly all his posts is say it's Bush's fault, it's the Israeli lobby's fault, or it's the neocon's fault. It's fucking pathetic really that someone is so close-minded. Just your typical extreme Leftist.

In keeping with the thread, I will not comment directly on the above poster or post, but keep my comments about what I will do.

Wrestlervic, some time ago an interesting dynamic played out up here. The Conservative Party under Kim Campbell tried mud-slinging at Jean Cretien during an election.

    Take a look,

    Here:

That year the Conservatives went down in flames

In a sense, I'm relieved that the current GOP candidates most definitely will NOT do everything they are promising to do (at least some of them), which is, to wit:

http://www.economist.com/node/21542180Nowadays, a candidate must believe not just some but all of the following things: that abortion should be illegal in all cases; that gay marriage must be banned even in states that want it; that the 12m illegal immigrants, even those who have lived in America for decades, must all be sent home; that the 46m people who lack health insurance have only themselves to blame; that global warming is a conspiracy; that any form of gun control is unconstitutional; that any form of tax increase must be vetoed, even if the increase is only the cancelling of an expensive and market-distorting perk; that Israel can do no wrong and the “so-called Palestinians”, to use Mr Gingrich’s term, can do no right; that the Environmental Protection Agency, the Department of Education and others whose names you do not have to remember should be abolished.
