Everytime I go to a fast food place or restaurant. The soft drinks always taste so much better then when you buy drinks from the store. What do they put in them to make them taste so good?

He means the flavored and sweetened part of the drink. They mix it with carbonated water in the restaurant. If they increase the amount of "syrup", it tastes sweeter and more flavorful versus if they added more carbonated water, which would make it taste watered down.

Because the store tries to make it healthier for you.

Do you mean the bottled drinks or the fountain drinks that you can get in some places? The syrup costs more than the carbonated water. If they water it down, they can make more money, but you won't be enticed to drink more. If they make it sweeter, it will make you want more, but they won't make as much profit. The sweetness probably makes you want to order more food because it induces hunger or something, but don't quote me on that.

How are they making it healthier? They are selling many 12 packs of sprite and other sodas.
