I'm just glad I live in Canada, where I don't have to think about this.

Now, can you American's please tell your media to stop taking over my TV and forcing me to hear every last detail of the campaign's? There's only so much I can take of that black guy, his wife, or that senior citizen running for the Republican party. And don't even get me started on the old white hag that finally bowed out!

I'm pretty sure I'm NOT voting Republican this year, but the assertions made about Republicans in this video aren't helpful.

As satire, it's well done, but it also smears people who hold genuine conservative beliefs (which they're entitled to) and paints them as having evil intentions and motivations. I think that coarsens the dialog and polarizes people.

Just as you did to Hawaii, and made it the 50th state. All because of your insecurities.

Give Hawaii back to the Polynesians.

The funny thing is that America doesn't need to. It would cost much more time and effort to annex us. It's much cheaper to keep things the way they are. I'd describe Canada as being the unofficial 51st state; our government basically takes it up the ass anytime the US government wants us to. But on the plus side, we've got an awesome military: yours.

hmmm, well it's what the republican party platform is all about. If they don't like it then they can change it.

    Global....
I'm sorry but I actually do believe that
Conservatives actually DO have evil intentions icon_twisted.gif

Using religion to spiritually bludgeon people?
Using Any means necessary to keep people from getting the rights they themselves have?
    Advocating torture?
Putting the rights of corporations over the rights of people?
Not fulfilling their obligation to educate and care for the health of their citizens in order to pad the pockets of the few?

Sorry, there's no accepting that kind of behavior
    in any way

Sorry, I just don't believe that. To say they're evil because they hold values that are different than you? That's cynical, not to mention overgeneralizing.

I grew up in the church and have known many conservatives for most of my life. I disagree with them on nearly every issue, but for the most part, they are motivated by sincere beliefs about how they view things and what's best for the country. They believe liberals and Democrats have the wrong ideas and they have to fight against those ideas. That is their right. We live in a country where free speech is cherished and policy is decided in the free marketplace of ideas.

Politicians across the spectrum opportunistically play to their constituents' deepest passions in order to get reelected, and in the wake they advocate policies without much thought to the real world consequences.

Are there some issue about which conservatives harbor evil in their hearts? Yes, probably so. Namely gay rights and immigration. Many conservatives blithely advocate clear discrimination and mistreatment of certain people. But still, they see it as an "ends justifies the means" kind of thing, to protect values they hold in higher esteem than, oh, civil rights.

To dismiss conservatives as simply evil, you're choosing to deliberately withdraw from any real study of what motivates them. That's your right I guess, but it does nothing to promote progress.

Demonizing others with whom you don't agree to make onself feel less threatened and/or more righteous?
    Isn't that what homophobes do?
    Fags can be hypocrites too.

All I can say is if McCain (AKA Grandpa McSame) gets in, this country is fucking SCREWED. It'll be 4 more years of Bush, plain and simple!!!!! Have you checked into McCain's history? He's another rich dude's loser son who would have never amounted to much on his own, and who had most everything handed to him on a silver platter. He just barely passed in school at Annapolis, he graduated like almost last in his class. Yah I know he served in Vietnam and was captured, I mean like how many times do we need to hear about THAT and what a biiiiig hero he was, but he's just another George Dubya ALL OVER AGAIN, this time with a really nasty temper when he doesn't get his way.

I can't wait to see him get totally shredded by Obama in the debates. :>) Obama's a waaaaaay better speaker and debater than Gramps is!!

Ever notice when he either doesn't know the answer to a question or he's lying about something, that he blinks his eyelids a lot? Check it out next time you see him trying to talk and you'll see what I mean!! :>)
