bulging muscle

my goal is to look bigger, stronger. i expect 10-15 pounds would satisfy me. I've been 6'0 175 for a year now.

i lift 2-3x week and go to yoga 2 times week, and moved on from 9 mo at a crossfit gym earlier this year.

been combining the functional exercises of crossfit (lifts, bells, rowing, etc) with lifting alone at the gym, but moving slow with focused breath like in yoga.

for example, squats. I load the bar with a low weight, pull bar off the rack, breathe, and dip my ass out, lower slowly 3-4 sec, breathe, hold, up then 3-4 sec.

destroyed my legs today. felt great. sore as hell.

but wondering if i'll actually build bulging muscle this way.

i like the way a slow lift feels, like i'm focused on the muscle contracting and it feels fucking great.

will this method build the biggest muscle though? should i just stick with this method and up the weight week after week, with breaks obv.?

    any thoughts appreciated.

From everything I've read and practiced, a few of the RJ 12-Week Workouts are complete crap. The Muscle Building one, for instance, has a very, very high rep range that isn't going to increase anybody's strength. 15-25 reps to build muscle? Ludicrous.

Read this thread for some advice and pointers about diet and lifting for someone in your situation.
