Can you spot the major thing this moron does wrong while driving in Winter weather conditions? There is more than one thing he does wrong.
If not, then you need a refresher course in driving skills!
(I love how he puts "Drive Safe" at the end! icon_rolleyes.gif

I would not have tried to pass in icy, snowy conditions. I also would have been driving slowly. Washingtonians are famous for not knowing how to drive in snow, so I probably missed a bunch of other stuff.

He is recording a video while driving in bad weather. That seems pretty stupid in itself (bad weather or good - not a great idea). Also, as a person who drives regularly in conditions like this - the driver NEVER should have been traveling that fast. With maybe 4-5 seconds of visibility he is VERY lucky he didn't end up like the Ford he seemed to be racing (again... STUPID). icon_eek.gif

It does seem that he was using a hand-held while driving at a speed inappropriate for conditions. The whole thing is more than a bit idiotic.

I'm not an expert at this because I've never driven in the snow before. But it seems to me that what they are doing wrong is that they are driving in snow.

It can actually be a lot of fun... under the right conditions icon_smile.gif Most of the time it is just annoying but you get used to it.

That was pretty reckless on both drivers and the semi...

Canada has brutal winters and when it gets bad, you slow the F*ck down.

I hate driving in the snow because the people around me go to fast don't give enough space between us and I got rear ended (and not in the good way) because some newbie didn't get the simple equation - speed+snow=equals longer stopping distance

MuchMoreThanMuscle saidWhat can I say? Unless you're from the Midwest where we get the shittiest snowstorms the rest of you are simply a bunch of dangerous amateurs. icon_twisted.gif

    A-fucking-men.

I moved from Ohio to the DC metro area in 2006, and these people terrify me in the snow. I've seen more people freeze up, panic and stop around here in the worst possible places.

I sold my SUV a month ago and am going to battle the winter this year in my smart fortwo while I'm waiting on my new car to come in. It's RWD and on summer tires, but I'm not that worried - I made it through both snowmageddons in it last year.

Yep. You guys pointed out several things he did wrong:
(Not in order of importance, but close)

    1) Videoing while driving. Granted in the beginning it looks like a stationary camera mounted in his car, but still...if a cell phone distracts you, what about a camera?
He is definitely holding the camera later as he limps down the road on (what I suspect) is a flat tire, since he claims it came off the rim.
Stupid! He could lose control easily.

    2)Too fast for road conditions.

    3) Passing. Should have stayed in the right lane. His actions provoked the other drivers, consciously or sub-consciously.

    4) Never used his wiper blades and I bet good $$ he didn't have ANY lights on his car.

And the major thing he did wrong is

    5) NO WINTER TREADS on his car.

If you drive in winter conditions, don't believe the hype about 'all-season' treads. If it snows where you live on more than 2 occasions per season buy winter tires!!!

    6) Although he didn't hit anyone or vice-versa, he did leave the scene of an accident.

I bet he was afraid of the police giving him a ticket for stupidity. icon_wink.gif
