He thinks he's so clever by alluding to all sorts of different combinations of unions that aren't in the spotlight right now in order to try and make a "case" for marriage only being a man and a woman -- but it's BS as usual. The government should not be involved in marriage to begin with which is historically a religious union. The only reason why gays and other equal rights advocates are asking for gay marriage is because people like him and many others are unwilling to do away with "marriage" and have civil unions for everyone which would make everyone equal. "Marriage" would be recognized either by a church or individuals. If marriage is not going away then gay marriage must be introduced in order to have equality. The same for any other type of union, not just gay marriage.

And yes, anyone and any amount of people should be able to enter into a committed civil union on paper if they'd like, whether it's polygamous or whatever. As long as they can all sign a contract so that it's evident that is what they want.

Perhaps he has forgotten that throughout the Bible marriage could also = one man and many women.

Whoa, there buckaroo! Let's follow that line of reasoning...if you let two marry, then why not 3 or 5 backwards. If you let a man and a woman marry, then why not 2 men or 2 women? If his logic is that 2 people of the same sex shouldnt marry cuz it would logically open the flood gates to any combination of marriage, then you shouldnt have marriage at all. Because marriage between a man and a woman logically leads to ....why not 2 people of the same sex. His logical position is no marriage at all.

And while we are on that subject, if gay sex is an abomination before the Lord and therefore, it should be condemned, banned, outlawed,...whatever. Then what about all the other abominations listed in Leviticus? Eating lobster, for instance. Should we not have to pass laws to enforce them? I mean, if the Lord is being abominated, He is being abominated....and we need to protect Him. You cant go around cherry-picking the Bible.

Santorums constantly exposing just how narrow his views are, he's of the religious Ideology that every aspect of life is neatly covered by his fundi biblical beliefs and he cannot see beyond or outside of those views. Someone of this narrow mindset is not fit for public office in a civilian setting where there are many acceptable ways of life different from his.

He simply is 'out of his tree' in the public realm because he cannot accept the worlds reality, He's out of sink with the world, but to him, the world is out of sink with him and his narrow minded fundi's, so to him its the world that has to change to his way of thinking. So Sorry Santorum, it just won't work your way.

The more he gets vetted in public and his narrow-minded thinking is exposed for more people to see, he will start losing his short-lived surge as fast as he gained it. I can barely listen to the man.
