So I'm a really big Lady Gaga fan. I have bought Lady Gaga tshirts and all three of her CDs. Even though I don't even listen to CDs.I like basically every song by her. Except the awful "You and I".

But outside her 2009 VMA Performance....which was also slightly boring. All her other live performances bore me to death. I find myself yawning sometimes.

I think she's an amazing artist but a very very crappy live performance artist. Not gonna lie her dance moves are lame also.

    Anyone else think this ?

What do you think of as an exciting performance then?
Because most artists these days don't give great performances, that is if they even sing at all.

Lady Gaga's got a great pair of singing chops, and the musical talent a lot of modern musical artists lack. I like her choreo well enough, but she actually sings all her shit, instead of lip syncing. Her concerts are a blast too.

Gotta say I agree with dancedancekj. I went to her concert a couple years ago in Atlanta and not a single person sat down in their seat for a single minute. And this was a small venue (the Fox Theater), definitely not designed with dancing and craziness in mind.

In fact, I would probably go further and say that her performances are definitely more intriguing than some other big pop acts. For example, Britney is boring to me because her acts seem to be exactly what you expect and the sets, etc... seem kind of "canned." What I saw of her Femme Fatale DVD didn't really impress me; over the course of 3 songs, it felt like all they were trying to do was show that "hey, she still looks good in lingerie!"

Gaga's sets are just more creative and intriguing to me. More imagination involved.

Last thing I'll say is that Gaga surprises with her songs often. She does some impromptu stuff and she has multiple versions of the same song in different styles (many of which she not only sings but also plays piano to).

/end rant that went on for way longer than i meant/ icon_razz.gif

Yeah, in this performance of "Alejandro" there are these giant black spiky tree-like formations in the set (the set changes a couple times during the show), tango and samba inspired choreography, Gaga smearing blood all over herself, yummy male dancers, shit being set on fire....

Totally tons of fun, and not boring at all icon_smile.gif

I'm sorta the opposite. I don't really care for Lady Gaga's albums... but I was dragged to her show last year, and it was actually pretty good. I thought her live performance was quite entertaining. The production value is quite high, and it's clear she can actually sing well... even though I think most of the words she's singing are fucking retarded.

Cuz if it is...I don't know about you, but I don't think it gets more thrilling than Lady Gaga and Brian may rocking out live and killing it icon_smile.gif

This has to be one of my favourite live performances ever.

I really hope her 15 minutes are up. She annoys the hell out of me with her boring music and pretentious art school attitude.

She's been out and having success with singles, performances, videos & 3 albums for over 3 years now... so 15 mins?

Yes but she seems to losing steam. I think she's reached her saturation point. The new album and singles don't seem as popular as the fame era. I truly hope something similar to punk (and to a lesser extent grunge) comes along to replace what I consider the worst era of pop music since the early 1970s.

Are you smoking copious amounts of crack?

I don't think there is anyone else in pop music at the moment that puts on anywhere near as good of a show as she does.

Think about it though you can't really recreate pokerface or just dance. And once you make it to top followed on twitter, first fb person to reach 10M, first person to reach 1B on youtube, Forbes #1 most powerful. Where can you really go from there? Obviously everything she does isn't going to get the exact same success of everything before it.

Madonna. Lady GaGa dreams of being as good as Madonna, and I love Lady GaGa.

    Dude, what are you smoking?

I was given a ticket as my birthday gift from a close friend when she cam here on April 19th, 9 days after my b'day. I'm not really a concert person but we were on the floor and I had a blast.

And OP, you think "You and I" is awful? lmfao!!! You have no taste in good pop music then.

And I think she is fantastic live.

    1. I said at the moment, not 10+ years ago.

    2. No, she doesn't. She has never compared herself to any other artist, or acknowledged any sort of competition with any other artist. She strives to be HER best.

    3. Madonna is a fucking train wreck lately.

i love the song..'you and I'... She is an amazing talent... althought she does like to go wayy over the top with all the dancers anddancing shit. Once she learns that she will survive on her talent alone, she will continue to bore us. She (unfortunately) is every one of her predisesers ( i cant spell that) rolled into one package....Madonna, Bowie, Wendy' O'Williams, Iggy Pop, Courtenay Love, Boy George, Blondie, Joan Jett, and all in one big weird and talented woman. Some what out of place ... Remember the egg...LOL. She will be fine... icon_smile.gif

    1. Madonna has and will always be the standard of female performing, whether we are talking about 10 years ago or 10 years from now. Obviously, you have not gone to her shows.

    2. Any female pop performer dreams of being as good as Madonna, whether we are talking about Britney or Lady GaGa.

    3. LOL. Really?

    Yeah, really.

The movie she directed is so beyond shitty that it isn't even comical, and hew new music is painful.

    So innovative and groundbreaking.

Sweetheart, only a demo has leaked from Madonna from her new album, plus the song Masterpiece (which is actually pretty great if you have any taste), so you can't judge her music. And then, her film has yet to premiere in the theatres in the US, so there is no way for you to know if it is shitty or not.

In a few years where there's a new Lady GaGa (just like what happened with bandwagon Britney fans), you'll hop on the next bandwagon and call Lady GaGa (who is an amazing pop artist) a trainwreck.

    Bandwagon fans are so...lol

    Obvi you have no taste.

And the song is not a single, so why would it be innovative and groundbreaking? lol...

You just don't like to accept the fact that any pop star (and I'm saying this as a Britney fan) looks up to Madonna (words from the mouth of Lady GaGa).

    'Obvi'. . .'Sweetheart'? Gross.

You can question my taste in music all you want to, I don't care - I think the song is shit compared to her older music. I never said I didn't like her, but in my first post all I said was there is no pop artist today that performs at Lady GaGa's level. I don't really think that is an unfair statement, but whatever, you are entitled to your opinion. The core point of my statement was that she is easily a strong performer.

Oh, and singles are never groundbreaking. They are always the most commercial pieces on an album.
