Old phone numbers

I was cleaning out my closet today and then I found an old cell phone from 2008 in there that I have kept in a chest with a bunch of other junk.

I didn't know that I had it. I thought I had gotten rid of all my unused phones. It's got an ex-boyfriends number on it that I had deleted whenever on my newer phones. It felt good deleting it the first time. He now lives in another state I found out last year and if I saw him ever again we'd just be friends.

We don't talk now, but now I want to keep the phone number for some reason. I could always email him if I wanted to but holding onto someones number feels oddly personal. It probably wouldn't direct me to him now even.

I don't know the point of this post but I guess I'm glad to say I have an old addition to my contacts still.

On kind of the same theory, I keep address books from ages ago. I still have my Mom's, and she passed away in 1973. For me it's a way of making sure I don't forget people who were once very important to me.

Yeah I feel sorta sentimental right now being away from a lot of my friends too. Maybe that's it?

Same here, my address book has numbers of people I have not talked to in years and others that I can no longer talk to. For some reason I can erase some numbers but not others.

I remove them from my address book when they die, or if I for some reason attempt to contact them and the contact information is no longer valid.
