Talk about positions that are making the religious loony "right" furious with the reality that Romney is gong to be the frontrunner:

It's still unbelievable that such a moderate position would draw such ire from the hateful religious fundamentalists.

Nevertheless, this makes Romney's position on gay rights nearly identical with President Obama's.

    Correct.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yet another example of why I keep saying that there is very little difference when push comes to shove between Obama and Romney. Romney was very moderate in a democratic leaning state when he was Governor.

All Romney is doing now is playing to the voters, just like Obama did, and when either of these get into office they'll do exactly what their financial supporters want, and the difference turns out negligable. The greatest cost increases in Government has historically come under Republicans, yet they talk shit about small government, a good example is that we are still reeling from Bush debts, starting us on a spiral that is hard to stop.

Obama caves to the Neo Cons and the Israeli Lobby as does Romney, now while running for office Romney is talking all 'big macho man for war', for their money and perceived votes, while Obama is in office and has to hold back on the war talk. Anyone want to bet as to whether there would really be a big change in Foreign Policy if Romney gets in ? He may go a little closer to war but in the end even Bush held back from the Neo Cons Iran war wishes. Both Parties do what the Paymasters compell them to do. I'd still rather gamble with Obama though if I had to choose between them when it comes to war.

VOTE RON PAUL, he's got no interest in limiting Gay rights and states repeatedly that he is against more war intervention. You say he can't win !! well you are probably right, but a vote for him will send a message to the two parties to listen up, that a third party may just be about to interrupt their two party status quo. The worst that can happen is that doing so will keep the serial flip flopper out of office.

Wrong, Romney said he supports a federal constitutional ban on gay marriage. He also said he would defend DOMA.

Obama opposes a federal constitutional ban on gay marriage. And the Obama administration has refused to defend DOMA.

These positions are not "nearly identical", they are opposite to each other.

    BINGO!
    You're 100% correct.

We have to watch these Repubs like a hawk.

If they can get away with tricking the uninformed into believing a pile of pro-Repub bullshit they'll do it every time!
