people try to silence you, and repress what you have to say; or even ask.

You know you have hit a truth and had a win when people try to have that truth not talked about. The joy of political debate; even progressive repress the truth from being talked about.

Lyndon LaRouche and the KKK have a win?

Some people might be trying to silence you because your truth hurts. On the other hand, some might be trying because they think you're a dumbfuck and don't want to listen to your stupid bullshit.

Socially, it helps to know the difference.

When your opponents change the arguments onto different grounds; they 'shift the goalposts', and so on. For example, when the Coalition forces failed to find any WMDS in Iraq, the reason for the attack/invasion switched to upholding the UN`s authority; or preventing terrorism, or any of about ten other reasons, etc.
