The Gay History, Legendary parties, Hedonism, debauchery, Orgies galour
It's a beautiful island. You can enjoy Fire Island any way you want to. Of cource, the most visible impression are the bars and dance clubs..high tea and low tea,......which I still don't understand. But there are scores of other men who don't do the party scene and enjoy good friends, BBQ's and having dinner.
The beaches are fine....lot's of eye candy but go to sleep if you feel like it.
People are freindly and relaxed, especially the ones who own a house there.
I just started to go there, and rented a share of a house. I had avoided Fire Island in the past, because I thought, like a lot of people, that it was a total gay scene and I wasn't into it. But the oportunity came, and I took it. I don't regret it.
Things are a bit expensive at the supermarket. But if you want to cook dinner for a group of freinds, they have everything.
There are no cars. It's peaceful and quiet.
Screw the holier than thou guys who proudly proclaim they are not into "the scene" They don't know what they are missing.
Chery Grove and The Pines are the gayest......the Grove seems to have more lesbians.
One of the nicest things I remember is feeling totally safe, no matter what time of night I was walking around.
Go and have a good time........revel in being part of a "community of freinds and supporters" and non judgemental people.
