What do you wear to the gym?

Hi, sorry, I know, classic gay question:
What do YOU wear the gym? and WHY?
Is there a reason to why you wear it?

Coz you know, I got to a totally straight gym,
but I swear some of the guys there have slight
transparent shorts, or have outlines of their package
on show.

I wear old t shirts and old shorts.

I know this is going to sound awful and my gay card may even be revoked, but I also tend to not go to the gym for a fashion show and wear old shorts and t-shirts. I am amazed at the parading around that the guys at the gym do in their matching workout "outfits" with pristine runners.

I don't know if it is just me, but it is more than clothes that make the man and I am at the gym to get a workout done and not to be judged on my attire.

Under Armour, because it really does wick away the gallon of sweat I produce. And, no, I don't wear their compression stuff.

In general, I wear something that I feel confident wearing.
I wear t-shirts and shorts that fit correctly and accentuate my assets in a positive way.
I wear colors that look good on me.
The more comfortable you feel, the more positive energy you will project.

Well on Mondays I wear my blue ensemble
Tuesdays I choose the all yellow
Wednesdays I adore the red with blue piping......

Hahahahaha - no I don't - I just wear crap - usually one of my old cotton t-shirts and some shorts....no matching sets of anything, and nothing new, clean stuff though.

Whats wrong with buying clothes specifically for the gym?

I do, I buy stuff thats cool (as in the temperature) looks ok on me, wicks away the litters of sweat I produce and is comfortable.

Plus, once I have them clothes on, I instantly am in the mindset of going to the gym and working my arse off.

mind you I don't wear anything tight or constricting nor do I choose clothes to accentuate anything hahaha

i find myself glancing over at guys who wear loose fitting baggy old clothes at the gym anyway so I would probably enjoy seeing all of you at the gym.

Old shirts and sweats...or old board shorts. I don't go to the gym to parade and look pretty: I'm going to work out. I go there with the most comfortable thing I can wear, I turn my phone off, and don't talk to a soul. I have no time for playing around when I'm working out. It's "me time."

Im constantly amazed by people (men and women) who come to the gym completely coiffed. It's like these people have never heard of sweating.

Which is why I wear an old rowing t-shirt and some banal gym shorts. Because they're going to get sweaty, so who cares!?

I've always found my tape measure thong works well. Cuts down on the guessing game in the sauna.

Hmm....I like to look good at the gym, cuz you never know whos gonna be looking! haha, but anyways, I wear just basketball shorts, a workout shirt, and old sneakers. And i rarely do my hair, so its almost always all over the place. And i get SUPER sweaty nasty when i run.

I don't get the gym fashion fair thing. At our last gym there was a guy who was always decked out in really outrageous (for the gym) gear: Versace t-shirts, Armani Exchange sweats, and he had this crazy fur-lined(!) hoodie. Decked out like a Ken doll - but not as proportionally built. So crazy. And he was actually working out in it - when he wasn't on his cell phone. But that's another story.

For me, it's a cotton t-shirt that doesn't wick away the sweat, because getting sweaty reminds me that I'm working - pushes me to work harder. And usually some cargo shorts.

Also, gym appropriate shoes. I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the guys among the free weights in flip-flops. That really bugs me, although I'm not sure why.

I guess part of my problem is that i'm being out
done fashion wise by all these straight guys. Sheesh!

Even their hair is motionless when they're on the
treadmill.

I would secretly confess to spending more time thinking about it than I would let on. But I gravitate torwards what I think is hot, and what I think is hot doesn't really stand out that much in your typical gym - a tank top or t-shirt and shorts or track pants. I pick colors that sort of work together, yet I'd be surprised if it was obvious to anyone that I thought about it much.

I do get really sweaty (because I bust my ass) (which is also hot) so if I know I'm going to be using 'shared' equipment I'll wear something wicky, or two layers of top...

I usually go with a shirt that's polyester/spandex, and just swimming shorts.

Sometimes I think some people spend too much time on appearance in gym yes. Like people who wear caps/beanies in the gym, the hell is that about?

I have a red, blue, green cotton based board shorts that i wear from time to time, and the regular old black basket ball shorts. I generally just wear a plan old red, or black shirt. Nothing spacial, but i do think i should buy some new t-shirts considering they are all from my good old fat days. 4X T-shirts just don't look to good when your supposed to be wearing a Medium.

Tracksuit bottoms and either a tight T or vest if i am feeling good about myself, or a big baggy t if i am feeling fat.

Some people where beanies so that they can reduce the heat lost during training. Admitedly a lot just doing to look good.

I wear board shorts and coordinating tank top. I know it kind of sad. I go to the gym right after work so I pack my gym bag the night before. I want to look good.

I do not care what other people wear. However, do people really look at what they are wearing? I have seen some clothes that Goodwill would not even take.

Usually shorts and tank, sometimes running pants or a t shirt. Mstly cotton, but I have accumulated several Under Armour shirts. They are great for the sweat.
