    Very interesting. I'll have to look out for that.

    I remember several years ago when I was a TA for an anthropology class, we spent about a week talking about the problem of honor killings in the Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, Central Asia, and India. The vast majority of victims are usually women, though certainly gays and people of ethnic minorities are other common targets too. It's also worth mentioning that honor killing is not solely a Muslim problem. It's done in places where Christianity, Judaism, and tribal religions dominate a locality also.

    Back to the situation in Turkey, how odd that recruiters ask for "proof" of homosexuality for exemption and demand video of people in uniform, visible face, and getting penetrated. Although I hear they really like their whores from the former Soviet Union in Turkey icon_rolleyes.gif
