I still play with a masters team.

Outside of practices, you want to focus on leg and core strength - so do dryland and water exercises that emphasize those. Squats / Lunges / Plyometrics, and ab work for dryland... you could do weighted egg-beater drills in the water (the class is fill a large water cooler bottle and try to lift it while treading, while it drains).

You can also work on ball skills, so just passing a ball against a wall, or passing with a partner in the water.

Endurance is also key, so for dryland, go for long runs, or do swim sets in the water, mixing sprints with longer yardage.

Thanks for the info on the exercises.
So far we are doing most of what you suggested.
I asked one guy about that bottle filled with water & I'm not sure but what are polymetrics?

great in water exercise if you have a partner and a medicine ball.. tread water in the deep end and have your partner pass a medicine ball to you and you back. Do a few set for as long as your can go.. We would do these at the end of swim practice and really kick your ass. Plus it also works on ball skill

A good H20-polo work out will kick your ass into shape (no matter if you're on your university team, or still playing in alumni reunion games). You'll be in the best shape of your life.

Been doing squats, lunges, sideways lunges, pushups, situps, sitting against the wall & alot of drills in the water.
I tried out the medicine ball.
Have yet to try out the weight belt & egg-beater kick with hands out of water.
Got any other drills for me?
