    Hey Folks,

I was walking down the airport, suddenly I saw this group of tourists, like 30 guys, very hot guys, of course in that group there must be some gay boy.

But I wasn't able to spot anyone gay! Actually my radar never worked I think, my classmate turned out to be gay too, and I didn't even had idea, and I knew him since we were kids.

So, maybe my radar is broken or need a fix. icon_lol.gif

Mine works a good amount of the time. There was a guy on my floor at work. I would see him around here and there. I knew he was gay from his mannerism's. I once heard a co-worker ask if he was still with his girlfriend. I couldnt see how his coworkers didnt know. I have since seen him out and about at the gay clubs. I had another co-worker who is clueless about her son. He tries to portray a tough guy. I see straight through it. He will come out in a couple of years.

So, find 2 guys, figure out which one your radar blips for. Go for the other one.

It's all a matter of getting your eye in, as I keep telling my recently-out lesbian friend.

Sorry I just don't believe there's any such thing as gaydar. It's all in the eye contact, and the hold of a look, if they are checking you out.

I usually have no problem picking out the gay in a crowd, that is until I moved to Vermont. Here we have what we call valley-straight, everything about them says gay, but they're not. It was confusing at first, but I eventually adjusted and now I am right about 50% of the time.

Mine works well and after 25 years at working in Heathrow Airport it's always up and running Carinoso!

Sadly, mine only has about 3 settings ...

    ...Straight...

    ...Jack from Will & Grace...

    ...Charles Nelson Reilly...

    Could definitely use some refinement...

I am hideous at guessing if i guy is gay. I went to a bar with the bf and it took me about 15mins to figure out it was a gay bar.

Mine works fine - but is not perfect. It has let me down a few times by incorrectly telling me a few guys were straight - when they turned out to be on OUR team!

I must've failed to check that box when I filled out the form to join the gay club. Wasn't anywhere in the welcome package.

But, for some reason, I will say I've had a few experiences that give me confidence in my ability to spot lesbians.
...except that time in Key West when I asked a couple of lesbians where the bank was, and opened with "excuse me, fellas..." but other than that, pretty accurate. icon_rolleyes.gif

mine never worked... but lately is getting worst. because here in my country is on a trend in witch the guys dress more fitting outfits, care so much about their hair, at the point to visit girls salons to get the work done by hair stylists. and even you can say that they wear makeup. its like the (r)evolution of metrosexual expression. so many looks like a bunch of runaway models.

and that drives me crazy because, you cant tell who is and who is not.

Thats pretty much what Gaydar is, a drawn conclusion based on body language as well as certain physical characteristics, method of speech, etc.

Seeing as how no trait completely dictates sexuality, its not completely reliable... you just look for trait that are inherently found in gay men.

I get stuck in the "can't judge someone based on stereotypes", even in the extreme case where there was this blonde guy on the train with kind of feminine motorics, and I went "Well, maybe he's just meterosexual" and the first thing he does when he gets off the train is to make out with his boyfriend... sooo... I think having a highly compatible gaydar also says something how you judge people as well.

My GAYDAR is very good and usually very accurate. Most accurate in a smaller group....is always "ON", but I can "squelch" what I am getting....sometimes it is just too much information....I don't know how or why it works, just that I have it....icon_lol.gif

My radar tells me to hit on any guy even if he is painfully straight.
