Focus on the Family is an anti-gay hate group. Tim Tebow did a commercial for Focus on the Family. You do the math. Get a grip, gays.

Tom Brady is better than Tim Tebow in football and in life. Let's go Pats!

I hope that the Patriots turn the Broncos into pavement markings on the field and make that narrow minded, bible thumping screwball Tim Tebow cry like a little, whiny bitch. Go Patriotsicon_exclaim.gif

Tebow isn't a good Christian, anyway. He works on Sunday.

TT is SO deep in the closet that he keeps banging his head on the back wall.

have ya'll checked out the other youtube interview links on this thread? in every one he comes across at the start as a macho dude...then gradually his voice softens up and his hang gestures become more animated and flamboyant.

the gaydar meter in my head keeps bounding off the internal peg.

Because sadly, we'd go for Fred Phelps if he had a nice chest and nice arms.

Personally I'm into any player who doesn't showboat and catch a hissy fit on field.

AMoonHawk saidThere was actually a huge scandal about FOF that broke out here in CS a couple years after they open up here. Oddly enough I cannot find anything on line about it, so FOF did a great job covering it up. The scandal broke that the minister that was providing the conversion therapy was performing some very unusual acts as part of the conversion therapy for men. It seems he had a room set up with a bed surrounded by christian iconary: statues, pictures, crucifix's, etc. He would fuck the men in this room and he would make them give him blow jobs, supposedly to shame them in front of Godly images. Coincidentally enough the story was broke by guy with a name that sounded very much like Tebow's. I believe his was Ted Tebedoe (or something similar sounding, I forget the spelling). When the scandal broke they fired the minister. But like the bible says, no good can come from an evil tree and this ministry is the creation of the evil itself. But like I said, I cannot find hide nor hair of it on line so they did really good job covering up the story. I'm sure it was because there were some really famous names that were involved in the conversion therapy.

Email the tip to some reporters at the Washington Post and the New York Times. They'll get to the bottom of it.

Or give me dates and places and I'll do it.

I recently changed my tune about the guy. I think that it was a video I saw of him on Jimmy Kimmel, and he came off as a really cool guy. He is a good role model to kids, and has reinvigorated the NFL franchise. Even my Mom, who loathes when the media hypes up a player, is even a fan of his.

I do hate all of the fellating that ESPN does of him. He was good in college, and will probably get better as time goes on.

I do find the Mile High Messiah as a nickname for him to be hilarious.

Well, to be honest, Tim Tebow does seem to be a nice young guy.

Yes, he associated himself with Focus on the Family...and yes, he was allegedly asked about his feelings when it comes to gays, and before he could answer, a PR handlers hushed him up...so I am a little worried that he may hold some views that would be in line with the Leviticus Christians who love to hate us...

But at the end of the day, I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. I don't assume he is a homophobe. I don't assume he is a supporter of Focus on the Family...though his reasons for being pro-life make sense, given that allegedly his Mother was encouraged to abort him to protect her own health.

Putting all of that aside, here's what I think of Tim Tebow:

    * He's a mediocre NFL QB...and although he's shown some improvement, and he is apparently a capable motivator...he's playing the WRONG position on the field. He should be a FB, a RB, a TE, or possibly a WR!

    * He's cute...but he is by NO means gorgeous, and so I'm shocked at the outpouring of affection that he has received by guys on here. I've come to the conclusion that so many gay men seem to love Tim Tebow because deep down, many of us like the idea of "corrupting" a Christian fundamentalist...as a way of kind of driving a thumb in the eye of the Christians who love to hate us.

    * I'm TIRED of all the Tebow shit! Seriously, people like to say that the attention he's gotten has in part been because of what he's done on the field...but Tebow's image has been cultivated and promoted from the his college days. Now, people suggest that the fixation on Tebow is because he's earned it...but note, John Skelton, a back up QB in Arizona, won like 5 of the 6 games he started...and almost led them into the playoffs...and no one even bothered with him! In short, the promotion of Tebow is an orchestrated effort to promote what "an American" is...white, Christian, faithful, athletic, a "winner," etc...

    * Tebow is boring. Sorry, but he's a guy with no relationship, who says that he spends his free time doing charitable work (which is great), and communicating with his pastor in Florida. What's wrong Tim...can't find a church in Denver that is religious enough for you? But the height of what makes him boring is the fact that he owned up to having a weakness...for ice cream, which he allows himself to have once a week. And of course, it's vanilla. This guy literally is a live version of Ned Flanders...without the trademark moustache. It's ironic that he'd be THIS boring...especially given all the credit he's been handed for exciting game winning drives.

In summary: Tim Tebow is a cute, nice, decent guy...but is pretty boring, has no where near the looks of the best looking NFL players, and although he's improving, he still needs MAJOR improvement to be what would be regarded as even a decent BACK UP QB in the NFL. And I think gay men who have a thing for him...for the most part just like the idea of turning a Christian fundamentalist into one of our own.

Some have said there is no proof that Tebow himself is anti-gay, but less be serious- He did an ad for the extremely anti-gay group Focus on The Family. It may have not been mentioned in the ad, even the anti-abortion message of the ad wasn't explicitly mentioned, but only when you went to the website mentioned in the ad did you find what the commercial was really about. But he had to know that the main focus of the group over the last few years and what it is most known for is its fight against gay rights. Second, he has been asked in interviews about his views on gay rights and has refused to answer and in today's world there would be little backlash for a celebrity or public person to say he supports gay rights. In fact, we've reached a point today where the backlash comes from saying you are against gay rights and do not support equality for the glbt population, especially among the age group that advertisers and celebrities seek attention. It wasn't too long ago when it was the other way around.

I really don't get all of the attention being given to Tebow. And, as someone pointed out earlier, he works on Sunday. Kind of hypocritical? Or, does Jesus give passes for Football players?

Looks to me like he's probably a decent person who's parents/family did a number on him.

If the Broncos get their asses handed to them, does that mean God is mad at Tim Tebow?

Evidently he's had a cold sore or a fever blister on his lip for about a week. You would think that if Jesus had enough time to fix these games for the Broncos, he sure could heal that thing before he gets on TV again. Jeesh!

It amuses me when people think that just because he did that ad for Focus on the Family that he must also be anti-gay. To assume that he researched exactly who they are and what their stance is on everything is giving the football player more credit than he probably deserves. He probably thought they were just a pro-life group and signed on to voice his opinion about that.

His "I'm so holy" stuff is gross, though. It's one thing to hold belief in something (regardless of how illogical it is) but another thing to have the need to constantly remind everyone all the time.

Tebow supports one of the most homophobic groups in the country so I have to assume that the friend of an enemy is also my enemy. Unless he does something about that, he will remain my enemy. Besides that, he's a Gator and I'm a Gamecock and Gamecocks hate Gators.

Sorry, not buying it. If he supports gay rights and equality, he has been given several opportunities to say he does, but has never answered the question when asked. Why wouldn't he answer? There is going to be little negativity come to a public figure who says he supports gay rights in today's world, but say you are opposed to gay rights you don't look so good and that is what gets the public up in arms. For us, the good thing is that is progress.
