    It's already been discussed in a couple threads here, but there is nothing too scientific about making this list. It's really nothing more than just a random list the editors and Advocate magazine knows that and did not intend for it to be taken seriously. This is the third year they have done this and each year the list is extremely different from the previous year.

    The criteria for making the list:

    I think they did this just to spite the Mormons and keep them busy in their own city/state, chasing the phantom gays immediately around them. Nevertheless, so be it.

    Using the table you provided, I kinda see why Orlando placed so high. I think we still have an LGBT bookstore here (Urban Think closed recently though). We do have a gay elected official. Gentlemen, let me introduce you to the awesome Patty Sheehan who is on the Orlando City Council...

    Really surprising. Plus, why aren't there any Canadian cities (i.e. Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver, etc..)?
