The shift on the RX looks too far right.

Do you like the extra places to grab the steering wheel in the Infiniti over the Lexus?

I love Infiniti's current interior aesthetics. I was drooling over an M56x at the dealership the other day.

I like the Infiniti a little more

How is it these days only the premium brands have nice light colored interiors and everything else is black or gray

There is no such Infiniti as the G45. Do you mean G25 or G35? This thread is pointless though for a fitness site.

That's the interior of an Infiniti M45 (not "G45").
And comparing a sedan with a cross-over SUV (the RX) seems odd...
Comparing the M45 to say a GS350 would be more appropriate IMO.

A more appropriate comparison would be the RX to the FX35/50:

    infiniti_fx50_interior-6486.jpg

Or comparing the M45 (which was the pic on the OP) to the GS:

    2006-lexus-gs-450h-12_460x0w.jpg

For me I'd choose the Infiniti FX35/50 and the M35/45 interiors. Lexus makes boring interiors and even any attempt to make them interesting looks more boudoir than bravado.

Even the new Lexus GS interior to be sold sometime this year I believe, is going to be better, more sporty, but still blah overall.

I'd take the Lexus .... Infiniti's love affair useless dash clocks and tacky gauge cluster backlighting really takes their interiors down a notch.... Kinda makes you think Nissan..

I was driving to work Friday morning and on my left was a car that had a monitor similar to the one I have in my car. When it was in front of me, I saw G45.

I then googled images for G45 interior and that is what I posted.

Now, since there has been some question about what I saw, I give you this:

    http://forums.maxima.org/general-maxima-discussion/61098-infiniti-g45-yes-i-said-g45.html

    Infiniti G45 (yes i said G45)

I went to test drive the new Infiniti I35 today at Bob Howard Infiniti/Porsche/Audi. Great car, lots of power and smooth driving. I got my certificate signed for the Palm M100. Woohoo! The salesman and I were talking about cars and the reliabilty blah blah blah........ then he said "lemme show you a secret" he pulled out this Infiniti document saying that 3 new cars from Infiniti will be released in a year or 2. The first on the list was the obvious G35 equipped with a VQ35 with about 280HP rear wheel drive. Second on the list was a QX4 replacement equipped with a V8 (most likely the VK45 found in the new Q). Third on the list was a G45! equipped with the VK45 its going to be a 4 door rear-wheel drive very sporty sedan with over 350HP and cost roughly around $50,000. Thought this was really neat.

    Yes, I accept apologies.

    I know what I saw.

You do realize that the quoted forum post was from 2001, right?

The original G35 sedan did have 280hp...when it came out in 2004/2005. The current G35 has between 220-330 hp. The 280-hp engine was also in the Nissan 350Z, again, back in 2004/2005.
The QX4 was the Infiniti SUV based on the Nissan Pathfinder. It hasn't existed in ages as when it came time to be replaced, Infiniti introduced the FX35 (V-6) and FX50 (V-icon_cool.gif. Introduced to the Infiniti lineup in 2003/2004.
Now, this "G45" that is referenced here never came to fruition under that moniker. This "4-door, rear-wheel-drive sporty sedan with over 350HP and cost roughly around $50,000", came to market as the M35 (V-6) and M45 (V-icon_cool.gif. This V-8 model was introduced to the US market in 2003/2004.

It is very possible that someone did some aftermarket alterations on their car and kept the "G" from their original car and took the "45" from a previous Infiniti M45, and re-badged their car. Happens alot on the aftermarket.

The bottom line is, Infiniti never marketed a "G45", but that doesn't change what you saw.

I modified the title of the thread.

One can find the dashboard monitor on a G25 and G35.

The interior of my 350Z was actually pretty decent. I wish Infiniti would do something better with the interiors of the G35 sedan/coupe. It really is mundane for a luxury brand.

In my personal opinion, I love the interiors of Acuras and Audis the best. I just got an Audi recently and the interior really is just functionally beautiful. My opinion of interiors of luxury makers:

Mercedes - nice, but not enough "design" to them
BMW - very clinical and cold for a luxury brand, though the new 6-Series interiors are nice
Acura - good quality and good design. Now, if they can just get the exteriors right
Audi - very good quality, excellent design
Lexus - elegant and high quality, but lacks passion
Jaguar - good quality, nice design, but getting almost too minimalist lately
Cadillac - questionable quality, elegant design, getting too redundant across their model line
Range Rover - questionable quality, attractive designs

Infiniti is very Nissan. they used to build their cars very alike until perhaps just recently...but maybe still so.

In Japan, Infiniti doesn't even exist. It's Nissan all the way. It's a way to cater to the uppity Americans who make luxury cars a status symbol. Plus, 'Nissan' seems to be related to the younger, hip crowd while Infiniti is more business-class.

As for the answer, I like Infiniti a bit more. But shit, I was pushing that RX in Utah and that was pretty friggin nice.

Volvos are nice too...I was gonna buy one before I bought my Nissan but I don't know how to work on Swedish cars LOL. Plus their parts are really expensive. In Denver it's mostly a White person's car, but Trick Daddy pushed it in 'shutup' back in 2000.
