Let's see... hot guys? Action? Lots and lots of explosions? Marvel Comics? Absolutely. If it weren't for that last part, I may as well have described porn.

There are some fun super hero comic book porn out there. (Not official Marvel.....but something for the gay comic book nerd.)

Looking forward to it. Comic book adaptations are pretty much the only movies I want to see on the big screen now.

Yeah....interesting but wish they had of stayed more with the original team...or at least included Wanda...who joined in issue # 16...Natasha didn't actually join until issue # 111.icon_wink.gif

The Wasp is part of The Avengers but it doesn't look like she's going to be in this movie. Black Widow is also part of The Avengers but in the comics she joins them years later.

I would've liked to see Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver in this movie and I think it would be cool if they mentioned that they are Magneto's kids. But 20th Century Fox owns the rights to the mutants.

the wasp is and was one of the founders along with antman. i was more talking about founding members of the team. i thought this was supposed to be somewhat integral to the movie - you know showing how the team started.

We must remember that the movie adaptions are made so that as few new characters as possible are thrown in in the same movie.

Remember that in the first Hulk movie, it was Bruce Banners father that became the Absorbing Man.

The movie Marvel Universe is not the same as the comic book one. I even think Marvel have an official number for which parallel universe the films are taking place in.

If there's going to be a sequel, then I will surely watch it. Good or bad doesn't really matter.

This could have been good, but the villain is Loki from the gawd-awful THOR movie. So I'm not very optimistic.

Agree. I think it's ultimately why Green Lantern failed at the box office--it was too complicated for people who hadn't read the comics yet. Introducing a team of 6 (Ironman, Thor, Antman, Wasp, Hulk, Captain America), two of whom are new to the screen is a lot for a 1-2 hour movie, not to mention villians and sidekicks (I don't think you can make the movie assuming people have seen the solo hero movies), never mind 9, five of whom would be new (if you add Hawkeye, Scarlet Witch and Quiksilver) and 10 if you add Black Panther. It's too much to keep straight and too niche of a target audience to be profitable.

Iron man has already been introduced in two or was it 3 movies
    thor has already been introduced
captain america has already been introduced
loki the supposed villian has already been introduced

they couldn't introduce wasp- one new character - but they could introduce the black widow - oh wait a new character.

how come harry potter introduced so very many new characters and did it successfully?

how come LOTR introduced so very many new characters and did it successully?

green lantern failed- because it should never have been made into a movie in the face place. it seemed only gay men waxed poetic over it, because of the guy who turned out to be the earth's gl. the comic was never all that!

Question: I saw Loki in the trailer and it looks like he will be the main villain. Just wondering if he will be the only villain in this movie? icon_question.gif

been waitng for this movie since I was a little kid in the 70s watching the old primitive marvel super hero tv cartooons featuring Cap, Thor, Iron Man and the Hulk

I am a bit worried though because these movies try to take the comic book out of comic book movie and try to make these people real and relatable to the general public when really thats not what they are intended to be.

I do not like the use of the Black Widow since she was such a minor character for the Avengers and most certainly not an original. The total snub of Ant Man and the Wasp and the Wasp probably an Avenger for more issues than any other Avenger

I also do not like having the Hulk in the Avengers, yes a founding member but he was gone after the first few issues so why bother even having him here, does not really fit at all.

I too hope that Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver are introduced soon, they could have been brought in through the last X Men movie and introduced here

Cautiously optimistic for the Avengers succeeding

I can't wait for this movie. The movies leading up to it have been (imo) great. The Iron Man series, Thor, and Captain America have all been stellar. Unfortunately they tried twice with the Hulk, and missed both times. But no matter. Bring on The Avengers. This should be awesome.
