...that so many gay men are head-less. this must be a frustrating debilitation in life, and i can only imagine the difficulties that must arise from being head-less; the stares, the harsh comments, the lack of dignity, the difficulty in starting conversations. my heart goes out to all of those who are (evidently) without heads- and even for those few who have at least been gifted with lower jaws, my heart bleeds. i feel that the awareness of this issue is lacking, and as its obviously pretty frequently occurring among gay men online, i feel that we should all do our parts to encourage research into finding the possible cure. i'm no scientist, but perhaps a direct injection treatment of Confidence may remedy the deformation in time? well, i'll leave it to the specialists.

to those of you who have been cursed by fate to go head-less, be strong... just keep smiling... er, well, you know what i mean.

but please stop messaging me. you're not *real* to me. no, i don't want to chat with you. grow a head and we'll see about things then. thanx in advance for any compliments you may preface your request for naked pix with.

I dont think it is a personal, internal condition, but one caused by the environment. Make the environment less toxic and the heads will reappear on their own.

Yeah I dont like the headless guys either. I want to see a face.

I also dont care for guys who never bother to email you back. I email guys sometimes just trying to be nice. I say hi, maybe make a nice comment about something I read in their profile and they never respond. I dont understand why.

I have always had an acute fear of Talking Heads. Are talking torsos any worse?

While it's absolutely saddening that so many people in the gay community choose to define themselves, or objectify themselves even, by their pecs, isn't it a bit inconsistent of us to criticize them for not being free enough?

It's really misconceived to conflate online identity with real life identity. Maybe objectifying themselves online is a way for some people to explore tentatively a different identity to that which they have in real life. Maybe they're afraid of being seen. We don't help people come out of the shadows by shouting at them, only by showing them love and helping them security.

For yourself, czarodziej, why do you have your shirt half-way up to reveal your abs as your profile photo?

Do you think we can overanalyse these things? icon_biggrin.gif

lol i agree completely with all that you say- first off, im tired of seeing impersonal, identity-less torsos (and other randomly assorted body parts). they all become the same thing after a while. pecs and abs are only hot when they're attached to a personality/face.

second of all- the abs in my pix are there because i'm a tease icon_razz.gif and because i like to show the fruits of my labors, as this site kinda implies a gay man should do. simple. lol

So many men, and not just gay men. Think with the head in their groin, and this brain has not conscience.

But because One dose not share another gay man view on religion, he would happily dismiss me as having no brain.

Or because I may well challenge their way of thinking. just so they feel they are in the right, and I am wrong. They will dismiss me have not having a brain.

Yet I work as a nurse. One of the most respected profession around today. I do good deeds daily, and am seen as a good positive person. One also carries oneself in a very dignified manner.

That is unless I am making a person on their death bed laugh.

But then I have never sent you a message, so it's not about me. Nor when I do talk to people here one one it's never about sex. This is also why I always have my IM. turned off. Too help control this.

you are talking about the guys whom will not show their face. i am contently abused by one in particular, whom dose not even have pic, let alone verified.

But none the less. I also stand by what One originally stated, even though it was off track. Oh the challengers of being a blond.

but then I don't live a lie, and have no need to hid. Yet there are people here with a head, and still not verified. Their excuse, whom would pic this head. Not the point. Your not legitimised.

I think that a lot of guys that are not out would be worried about being busted for being a homo. But they should at least have a face shot or two to unlock if they want to chat.

This thread is a little disturbing and short sided in my opinion. to some it can be frustrating that there are profiles such as mine that are headless (although once i get to know u, u do get to see my face), but there are plenty of reasons that some people do not post pics of their face and for whatever reason that is their business. as polobutt pointed out in an earlier post up, some are not out, others can be in the process of coming out, some have jobs that their sexuality can cause a problem for their success, others may not be super comfortable with thier face on a gay site or the internet period because of all the above. there are many valid reasons for not having ones face posted and it does not mean u lack confidence in urself, it just means that you do not want your face posted. congrats to all who post thir face pics for public view, but some of us are not in positions to do that.

i actually emailed czarodziej, the person who started this thread yesterday because after reading some of his forum posts and visiting his page, i thought he was a really cool person and just reached out to say hello.

in his words a faceless pic means i am not real, so ill respect that he has no inerest in friending a facelss as some people are not comfortable talking to people who dont "have a face" just like i am not one who is comfortable with having my face posted in the public view but i am here to say that i am very real, not fake, like so many profiles on sites such as this, even those with a face pic. and i am much more than a body, my body pics are just a way to give a little of me, but there is a lot more to me as anyone who knows me or has chatted with me can tell u. and im sure the same can be said for a lot of those who are headless on their profile pic.

i have my reasons for being headless as do many of the other headless people on this site, and whether people agree with it or not they are my reasons. rather than attempting to rail those who dont have a pic and quite frankly, disrespecting them with a public post, allow ur brothers to use this site as a place where they can begin their process of coming out, being out or just enjoying the process of chatting and meeting people like them who have things in common with eachother.

everyone is free to do as they want and believe what they want and talk to who they want, but one thing that is inappropriate across the board is disrespect.
