Why don't guys fucking clean out their car before a date?

OK, I didn't realized this annoyed me so much until today...

Rewind back, the last guy I was seeing NEVER clean out his car ever. I'd get into his car, and it was like I was climbing inside a fucking dumpster. There would be like 3 empty cans of energy drink lying on the passenger side floor as if that side was his garbage can. There would be cables and tools and all sorts of miscellaneous junk in the seat."

Recently, I got into someone's car and it was better, but not different. It was like it hadn't been vacuumed since the car was bought. It was disgusting.

It's like here I am, dressed up for a date, just put on cologne nice shoes and a nice shirt and I have to crawl into your dumpster ass of a car? Does anyone know how disgusting that feels? It's so degrading to sit in someone's garbage can on the way to a date.

I don't know what the missing link is with some gay men. Something in the brain just ain't wrapped too tight. Like some have no regard for what another person may think of their filth and that it's acceptable. Newsflash: It AIN'T acceptable . It's like, I may be a top in a particular relationship, but treat me like a woman if I'm going to roll with you. No straight man is going to invite some woman into his car for a date with trash everywhere.

Contrast that to last Friday, where I went out with someone who was visiting who picked me up in an immaculately clean, hot pink colored '12 Mustang. That's how it should be. Doesn't need to be a Mustang but it better be clean...

And FYI, my car is spotless EVERYTIME before I go on a date. It just royally pisses me off that other guys don't put in even 1/2 of the effort icon_evil.gif

agreed - best fully-formed and rational rant of the day, if not the month.

And yes, a clean car is a must - not just on date night, but at any time.

    great rant!

I feel the same way you do about this. I am a car photographer and when some of these used cars that come into the dealerships are just awful. I often wonder how they care for their homes and themselves. My car is always clean and nice when I go out. Even when I am just meeting someone there.

I know, right? It doesn't really piss me off but it makes me wonder if they are like that in most other areas of their lives....icon_question.gif.....

My car is a pig sty. I got involved in a LTR because I was sick of cleaning it.

I don't get it either. I don't personally vacuum the car out before a date but then again, I don't use it as a trash can either. I've found that most gas stations have handy little things called trash cans right next to the pump. So while I'm pumping gas, instead of standing there picking my nose or playing with the phone, I take that time to empty out any accumulated trash. I generally get any empty cans out when I get home.

It's like some guys don't care. I had a date yesterday that was a "sweat pants date". Nothing but lounging around and such and we both wanted to be comfortable. I went to the trouble to wear my nice sweat pants and a nice shirt but when I got there his were all worn looking(I LOVE ratty old comfortable sweat pants .... when I'm at home alone) and he had on black socks. I at least tried to color coordinate my 'lazy outfit' for the date.

Come one guys, think a little and do your best to try and impress your date.

    The other guy says.

"I dumped this guy because he wouldn't stop bitching about my car and it eclipsed the greatness of our chemistry."

+1000. Stop bitching or drive yourself. Nothing undermines the courtesy of others... who cart your complaining ass around... like ingratitude.

I don't like getting into messy cars. But I don't expect anyone's car to be immaculate. And would never think that the state of someone else's car should be about me, me, and me.

LOL. To get into my brother's truck, you have to move a quantity of stuff equal to the volume of your body. The problem is, you don't really want to touch that stuff without gloves.

We have some shared (farm) vehicles and it drives me nuts. I have to clean out the vehicle before I use it. I pointedly return the non-trash items to their house, but they seem cheerfully indifferent.

If he came to pick me up in an immaculately clean, HOT PINK car, I'd tell him to keep driving. I aint sitting my ass in Barbie's Dream Car.
