As long as the Bush Tax Cuts are not repealed, gay conservatives would quite literally vote for a douche bag

Guess I was watching a different confrontation between Mitt Romney and the wheelchair guy than the reporter was because I heard Mitt Romney answer the question quite clearly -- "I'm not in favor of medical marijuana" --- and as far as the question "Would you arrest him and his doctors?" -- it was a ridiculous question. The reporter was the douchebag

So if Mitts wife had intractable pain due to MS and the only thing that eased her symptoms was medical marijuana, would he rip the joint right out if her hand and let her suffer like a dying dog?

Kind of a ridiculous question. If Medical Marijuana was illegal, his wife wouldn't be holding the joint in the first place. Mitt Romney is not in favor of legalizing medical marijuana. Many Americans agree with him.

Conservatives are against it until they need it themselves. So damn hypocritical...

Who says all conservatives are against Medical Marijuana? This thread is about Mitt Romney and his stance on the subject. The guy doesn't even drink alcohol or caffeine...of course he'd be against marijuana.

So what you're saying us that you don't mind if politicians like Mitt Romneycare force their own personal preferences and lifestyle choices on the rest of us.

You don't mind if they push laws and legislation and stack the SCOTUS with religious right extremists in an effort to force their personal preferences and lifestyle choices on all of us.

Thanks a bunch for voting for that!

Romney is against it for now....
Then he will flip/flop depending on the situation. When his wife needs it, Romney will support legalizing medical marijuana.

Not saying that at all. Mitt Romney happens to be against the legalization of marijuana (including medical marijuana), which is what this particular thread is about. Many Americans are against it. I saw first hand what a joke the legalization of marijuana has become in the state of California. You can basically get a prescription for pot for a toothache. I really don't have an opinion one way or the other regarding pot because I do not smoke pot. However, Romney clearly does have an opinion --- he is not in favor of legalization of medical marijuana. He is entitled to that opinion. I don't think Romney is pushing anything on me. If the congress voted to legalize medical marijuana, I suspect he would sign it.

What is the big deal about legalizing pot? Its ridiculous that people like cancer patients are rendered criminals for just trying to survive.

I guess you were! The PATIENT asked that question and Romney squirmed away. Yeah that "ridiculous" question was asked directly by the guy in the wheelchair.
BTW, The thread is about a Douchebag? Hmmmmmmmmmm I wonder who that REALLY is.

1- When you're the one with the toothache, the pain is 100% PAIN ! (so I hear.)
2- I've never used it either.

Romney answered his question by giving the wheelchair guy his opinion on legalizing medicinal marijuana. It was STILL a ridiculous question. Just because the guy is in a wheelchair doesn't make the question any less ridiculous.

Who gives a fuck? The pro-pot lobby is now saying that pushing for medical marijuana is a loser - we need to push for full legalization.

In any case, this is hardly a defining issue of our time.

It is a curious phenomenon - when someone is disabled or has suffered a tragedy of some sort, this is supposed to add weight to their words and arguments.

It is kind of sickening. Look how they've been trotting out Gabby Giffords in Congress (and elsewhere) - and woe to the person who does not stand and applaud her, just for being Gabby.

She is not a "hero," and she is not "brave" - she just had the good fortune of getting shot in the head by a pot-smoking, atheist whack-job, thus elevating her to near-sainted status.

[DISCLAIMER: What happened to Gabby was tragic. I'm off the hook now.]
