Gaypatriot. . . or, is his opposition to gay marriage just, as he says, a “public policy difference”. I have my differences with Santorum and cannot support his bid for the Republican nomination, but tend to the latter view. I don’t think he hates gay people.

Joel Gehrke at the Washington Examiner posted about a woman in South Carolina supporter who asked him how to address her support for him. Interesting how that wife answers first (before he follows up):

Can a public policy difference, as the Senator puts it, be seen as a personal assault?

Reminds me I do need blog asking if social conservatives hate gay people. Some do, but most, it seems, do not. More on that anon.

These are the same people that openly suppourt Ann Coulter as a "gay icon" and "valuable ally"

Coulter is a CUNT and I don't like to use that word. Whoever thinks she's a "gay icon" should be shot.

And yeah he doesn't hate gay people he just thinks they should be killed. Big difference.

Remind me of those abusive teachers back in India who would beat the kids black and blue to feel empowered and say : It hurts you, but it hurts me more. Bigot!

Rick Santorum is not just against gay marriages he is against every right gays could have. He is the same man who has compared homosexuality to pedophilia and dog fucking. He is for DADT. He is not for sexual orientatation being a protected ground under Human Rights, He is for gays being denied services and he is for forcibly divorcing same- sex couples who are legally married in their state. He is for gays being denied basic human rights. He is the one who has said not once but repeatedly that being gay is a choice.

I don't live in US but you don't need to be a rocket scientist to know his stance on gay rights and his lack of humanity for sexual minorities.

Karen is as big a LIAR as rick is.. I almost puked when i heard her say that "the ONLY thing Rick has ever said is he doesnt support gay marrige but the gay activists have vilified him"

Oh really Karen? Would you like to view some of your husbands verbal statements that had nothing to do with 'gay marriage' and ALL to do about gay people?

They are NOT very nice Karen, and you have very selective hearing or you are an out an out LIAR.

True. Also, don't forget that the guilty often pretends to be the victim.

Ann Coulter = extremely successful troll.

It is almost enviable how much money she makes trollin' liberals and raking in the dough from folks who believe her.

Samtorum OTOH, is firmly convinced of his crusade.

Santorum is the douchiest of all the Republican candidates, some of the shit he says is worse than what Bachmann spewed IMO. The guy seriously would rather gay people not exist, sees them as less than human, and would strip us of every single one of our rights given the option. The looney Duggars support him, if that tells you anything.

I cannot stand Rick Santorum, and he is the one candidate that, IF nominated, would get me voting for Obama 100%. That said, I still find it really annoying that gays use ridiculous melodramatic statements to express themselves like:

MusicMan91 saidhe doesn't hate gay people he just thinks they should be killed....

I mean, c'mon guys...get a grip. Rick Santorum has never said he hates gays, that he wants them dead, or that they are less than human. So, if you're going to fight back, at least keep it real. Again, I in no way support Rick Santorum in any way, I just don't think over-the-top rants are particularly helpful or effective.

    You poor yanks
same old crap arguements about children knowing their mum and dad etc. Never a mention in the same sentence of single mums/ dads. Kids in foster care, Kids up for adoption. If these pricks (Australian politicians too) really cared about the rights of children then the above issues would be addressed also. But thats too hard easier to pick on a group and ignore poor educational systems, child health and obesity, and over sexualisation of children.
Its all about deflection in the worlds modern political arena. Stick to a devisive issue and ignore growing issues such as obesity, the environment corporate greed, the poor treatment of ex service men and women, the old etc etc

What these num skull pollies forget is each time a child who has only one or no parent sees this on TV it triggers a belief that maybe they arent good enough.

    my 2 Australian cents = 2.79cents US

It's easier to deal with a fantasy world of your own making, rather than facts. And it distracts from other important issues.

    Don't look behind the curtain!

The guy compared gay marriage to 9/11 and terrorism. And if he wants to deny basic human rights to a group of people, then that's seeing them as less than human.

There was a guy in my gym this afternoon with a T shirt on with "Leviticus 18:22" on it.I told him I found it offensive and also informed a member of staff....who told me members could wear what they liked to the gym.

The guy said "Im a Christians and Gays offend me. I believe on the BIble." etc etc. I tried to have a reasoned debate with him.....but gave up as he sounded like a stuck record.

Ironically....I noticed in the locker room he had a huge tattoo of the Crucifixion on his back and "John 3:16".

I thought Leviticus prohibitted tattoos? And the whole "thou shal not make any graven images" bit.... HYPOCRITE!!!

Like most of these kinds of people Ricky Santourum doesn't hate Gays, he is scared and intimidated by us. I've found that these people like Rick question their own masclinity when being around gay men, especially happy, well-adjusted and successful ones. Of course there is always the possibility that it also taps their own latent homosexual desires too. As my wise "Gramps" used to say: "If you point a finger at someone else, you have three pointing back at yourself"! icon_lol.gif

Yes I did complain. He was walking around in a T Shirt with "Leviticus 18: 22" in big print andnear the bottom and a lot smaller "Do not have sexual relations with a man as one does with a woman; that is detestable. "

I'm not condoning the t-shirt, but we do live in a country in which "Freedom of Speech" is something we hold dear...even when it's not always something we want to hear. Perhaps you should wear a T-shirt to the gym that says "I Kissed A Boy...And I LIKED it!" and see how THAT goes over with the gym staff icon_wink.gif

Santorum is just a bigoted fuckwit. Like most Republicans, he is all for 'small government', until it comes to sticking his nose into the private lives and interfering with the civil rights of certain sections of American society.
