I've got a $60k Land Rover that just isn't cutting it. Would switching to a Range Rover Supercharged Sport help? Would a Jag XF be better. What would be the best chick magnate? (My only problem is I live in Chicago so I need all wheel drive.)

If you want to get my attention, ride a bike.

It isn't the car driving but rather who's driving it unless you are looking for a gold digger.

yeah, sorry but if u think u need a 60K car to attract attention to yourself you need alot more than a new car.

pretentious vehicles are a major turn off for me, despite what the their commercials and salesmen tell you, it turns u into an instant D-bag.

eg: 2 guys, same age, equally hot,

    A) is in a dirty 20 yo RHD x-mail jeep with a couple of scrapes n dents

    B) is in an immaculate 7 series bmw with tinted windows.

I want to immediately go on a road trip, and get to know everything about (A)

    I couldn't care less about (B)

But Thad, that is just reverse snobbery. You are still judging the guy by the type of car he has. I love nice cars, and I love them for the way they drive and because I have a long commute... I really dont care who else likes my car. To me it isn't about status,.. I am just a car guy.

But you are saying you would write me off because I have a nice car?

If you are saying that you dont want to be with a guy who has a nice car just because he doesn't have a sense of self and is trying to buy style and trying to impress others, I am 100% with you, brother. I agree with that wholeheatedly.

I would agree with you Alpha but the OP asks the question in his thread:

What car in the $50 to $60k range most gets gay guys attention?

He isn't asking what car drives the best...he's wanting to change cars based on the level of attention he thinks he would get from gay guys...

Even when something as materialistic as a car may initially grab their attention, it will still be up to the driver to hold their attention. A flashy car may get you in the driveway, but it's going to take more than that to get invited in the front door.

True, true... I stand corrected.... Thad, I apologize... I thought you were trying to make a different point... I forgot the context of the post.

Momma always taught me it was tacky to talk about money/how much things cost.

But if you really want a rec get an Audi. Doesn't scream of pretension and comes with the Quattro. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2012-audi-a6-30t-quattro-road-test-reviews

    I love car threads!

When I saw the title of this blog (before even reading your post), my first thought was Jaguar XF. That said... Jaguar XF. The car is hot... and yes, I'm biased as a Jaguar owner.

Well give me the 60k and I'll procure a custom hot pink Hyundai Accent for you (and keep the rest of the 49k for myself.)

I think that if you have the money, why not get a nice car? In the price range you're talking, I'd definitely go for the Jag XF. But that's just me, I'm not a fan of the new Range Rovers anyways.

I'll accept the reverse snob label. as far as i'm concerned if you show up in a car that's manufactured and marketed to stroke the ego of the typical status seeker, then you've got your work cut out for you proving to me ur not one of them.

but in the end i think it all works out, the person who chooses to drive the 7 series bmw, is going to attract exactly the kind of shallow status seeking person who's interested in a shallow status seeker, so maybe instinct will serve the OP well. birds of a feather....

This car in Chicago would probably get my attention especially with a gun rack for your machine gun. It is a high rider so no problem with the snow and ice. Soup it up with a good heater though so when we jump in the back seat, I will not send cum icicles up your bum.
