Reading the AFA's hissy fit / response to this is awesome, too:

The license plate advertises and helps fund a homosexual, bi-sexual, transgender teen recruitment and support center called the Indy Youth Group. $25 of every plate sold goes to the Indy Youth Group.

"You have to question what the BMV was thinking when they approved a license plate for a group which recruits teens into the homosexual lifestyle. Since health risks do not seem to matter, what is to prevent a cigar club from now getting a license plate from the BMV?"

    "recruitment"

    Fundies crack me up.

    haha I thought something similar.

Why would anyone want this as their number plate?

Unless you wanted your sexuality to be a 24/7 political statement.

You would be surprised. Indiana isn't all Bible thumpers and corn fields.

I was born there and went back for the first time in 30 years back in 2000. The rural areas still looked the same, but was I ever shocked at Indianapolis. Place is clean, awesome downtown area with great shopping and restaurants and the city is vibrant, creative and a whole lot of fun. No traffic backups. Very progressive.

Sure, there are going to be some rock throwers up there with this kind of a tag, but they will be small in number.

I find it hard to believe. An ex moved to Indy and I went there to visit a few times. All he did was complain about the bigots. Plus, they have a "God" license plate. That should be a violation of the constitution.

And politically, except for barely voting for Obama in 08', it is a very RED state.

This isn't really an "I'm gay" pride license plate so much as it is a plate to draw attention and raise funds for an organization called 'The Youth Group' that is in Indiana schools. I am hoping this will appeal to heterosexual parents as much as it does to gays and lesbians. Most states have these type of special plates to raise funds for an organization. My state has plates for the Boy Scouts, The Children's Trust Fund, and a group that preserves light houses in the Great lakes.

They have a God license plate in Indiana. Here in Florida, technically we have TWO:

And this is the one that didn't make the cut.....

This would be comical if it weren't so sad for those who actually have to deal directly with these people (i.e. children of this group's members)

That's why we fight them. Every day, they lose the message war a little more, they lose a few more followers, a few more bigots die, and a few more tolerant kids wake up. We're winning.

Yep, and much of that is a result of a conservative uni regional government. Indy and Columbus have done remarkably well.

We know ALL about FL and erection dysfunction, or is that election dysfunction. All the geriatrics were counting on their god to help them with the voting. Didn't work.

Loved the FL cartoons coming out of the bush 00' election.

I still believe drivers in IN, with these great plates, will become targets. I hope they don't, but won't put money on it. Surprised a more progressive state did not start it first.

Glad to hear Indy has improved.
