It's a bit unfortunate that many are coming out of the closet in response to the recent suicides. Or maybe they're coming out to prevent future suicides. Either way, it's a shame that suicides are what is prompting these actions.

At the same time, I am glad it's happening because it gives more strength to many others who might be struggling internally.

Move the podcast cursor to like 17 minutes to get past all the ads and bullshit talk. Then he goes into it.

This is pretty good. You should all listen to it, well worth it. He still has hang-ups but is very honest about it.

I think it's sad that he makes such an enormous deal of it though. I mean, you would think he's about to tell the world he tortures kittens or something. I can't believe how important other people's approval is to some people.

I agree. Very moving part around 30 minute when he talks about people using the "gay" word. But I can see he is fighting his natural, masculine internalized homophobic feelings, but also then being honest about it. Either way he's admitting it, and his way of telling it may change minds of extremely homophobic people who need a masculine WTF man to deliver it to them. If you can say WTF, and be a dude, people can swallow it better.

Yes, some people even kill themselves over it. icon_confused.gif

That's why he's talking about this. He's not ashamed internally, his parents raised him to be like that.

    Thanks for the podcast. icon_smile.gif

Around 56 min he talks about his earlier (and probably still now) uncomfortableness with feminine gay men.

I wasn't trying to be a smart ass. I meant that it's quite literally "sad." Trust me, I was raised the same way, but I guess I think once you become an adult, you would learn to say "fuck off" to those who don't accept you for who you are. I can understand a child feeling cornered by peer pressure, but not an adult. I guess we all handle it a little differently though.

I think it is very good when well known celebrities stand up for who they are.

    Now, who is he?
