That is he's right to do so.

Just as Obama was to make promises to get the gay vote then ignored them. He could of had national recognition pf gay relationships like Civil Unions up and running by now, yet you have to wait, and vote for him again, in a slim hope he will come threw next time; but remember Mitt is not deceiving you to get your votes as Obama did. So when you vote put America before your dicks; because America needs you!

Mitt you can defend marriage between a man and a women, still allows our half brothers the bisexuals to take a wife. But what us homosexuals need to do is fight for the right of Civil Unions, and make that our very own, while also making it all inclusive, so when a half brother decides to dump his wife for a relationship with Steve, he too can commit if they want, or even our straight family Can join in too. Let marriage be between a man and a women, after all it is their creation, let them have it.

We can behold Civil Unions, and call it our own, and share it too, to make it all inclusive! Problem Solved; next?

Here is a copy of the pledge the Mitt Romney Signed:.

""establish a presidential commission on religious liberty, to investigate and document reports of Americans who have been harassed or threatened for exercising key civil rights to organize, to speak to donate or to vote for marriage and to propose new protections if needed""

Why is this a surprise? He is running for president as a republican. Slowly but surely the country is changing. What is happening is that state by state marriage will be allowed, the republicans keep saying "states rights" and states keep passing gay marriage, and after a year or two everyone realizes that when the gays marry the straight marriage industry does not fall apart and straight marriage does not get any worse than it already was.
Romney is a shit head, but he is also a republican shit head running in Southern States with a bunch of red meat crazy religious nut balls. I wish the republicans could have come up with a better candidate, all of these choices seem deeply flawed and Obama is easily beatable, except by these republican losers.

It's interesting that Obama haters here will bash him for "broken campaign promises" they claim he made to gays merely to get himself elected. But they'll rationalize his Republican opponents about their own virulently anti-gay positions, saying they're forced to do it to appease the Party's religious Right. Double standard, anyone?

When Obama treads lightly with gay issues for political reasons he's not worthy of reelection. When Republicans openly attack gay rights and gays themselves as perverts for political reasons we're supposed to look the other way, and willingly sacrifice our rights as US citizens because Republican are ... good for the economy? Masters of international diplomacy? Correct on other domestic civil issues, like their melding of Christian Church & State? Commendable for their cavalier use of the US military in false wars resulting in disastrous loss of life and resources?

Yep, those Republicans have everything you could ever want in government -- except good governance. It therefore becomes clear that some here simply want a Republican in the White House, no matter how suicidal it would be to gays, or to the country as a whole, for that matter.

And these slanders against Obama are flat out false, anyway, since his Administration has done more for gay rights than any in US history. And did it despite fierce Republican opposition in Congress and at State level. Obama would have achieved much more for gay rights, and in many other important areas affecting the economic recovery, were it not for self-serving Republican obstructionism.

But this Obama myth regarding gays has become enshrined in the cloned Republican talking points that many here repeat daily. And it has to be, because Republicans need to neutralize the gay vote which they know would not, if rational thought prevails, favor them.

And what better place to do it than where a gay audience discusses politics. I'd be curious to know who's the director of this "Conservative Chorus" that they can all sing off the same sheet of music so well together, the words all the same, the voices all coming in on cue.

OMG look how fare those Latter Day Saints have advanced in America, once the American Government wanted them exterminated. Now they are running for the top job of the land; America will have a Latter Day Saint in the White House someday. They have already had the first catholic, and what a dirty deceiving man he was with the morels of an ally cat. You now have the first Mixed race president who makes promises to get votes from minorities, then does not come though; you get more out of the hot air from a hand dryer than you have from Obama; so since America is the worlds biggest Christain country and thats not going to change over night; maybe it's time for a Latter Day Saint in the Write House, and next Adam and Steve.icon_idea.gif

Oh and since you made the choice to keep looking at ones posts, stop bitching; just chill and mellow. Yet you find it OK to attack people with Special Needs, just to abuse me, because of your special needs; you have a heart of ice. yet if one had made such a statement you would feel a right to be outraged; thus feel a right to abuse, because of your contempt. You act no diffrent to the christians you despise.

Mellow man, go smoke another joint; mellow go look at your own issues and deal with them first; mellow, mellow, mellow, mellow. Oh I am fine and life is bloody good too.

Maybe seeing a latter Day Saint in the White House, we will see America on an advancement forward again; something needs to be done, and Obama is not doing it,and maybe Mitt will get the ball rolling again; thus all will benifit.. Not saying he will win either; but at this time American politics is interesting at the thought, and there may be light at the end of the tunnel for Americans.

Yes, as we all know that those state legislatures can veto whatever Obama signs into law....

Obama has done NOTHING for gay rights (unless you are a Federal employee) and worse, when he COULD have done something during the first 2 years of his term when he and his Democrat partners in crime, er, governance controlled the Federal government, did they overturn DOMA? No. Did they grant "gay marriage?" No.

Ever heard of filibustering? What about Mitch McConnell, ever heard of him? Ever heard of socially conservative Democrats voting with Republicans?

Even if Obama would have come out in favor of gay marriage, there's no way DOMA would have been rejected by the Senate during these past three years.
