Not sure if the fact that Rick Perry will be endorsing Newt Gingrich will actually help or hurt Newt as he is surging in SC

It will hurt Romney. Tea Party voters will start uniting around Gingrich. Gut check time!

I don't so much know if it will hurt Mitt as just be a bump in the road. Time will tell.

NightLine is set to air the interview with Gingrich's ex-wife tonight

It aparently set off a "civil war" within ABC (likely means debates of whether to air it as well as which show would get to air it.)

    As the gov once said:
    "Adios mofo"

This is great news for Newt, now he'll get Perry's 12 votes in SC.

Do we know that the interview with Newt's ex-wife will be a slam piece? She may actually support him and the interview could help him.

No, in fact the decision to air it (according to the piece I read) was made in fairness to Newt gingrich, since so much speculation was flying and - and you rightly point out - people were speculating the worst, and that was patently unfair.

But they could not be faulted for going with the interview when it was offered.

This does not bode well for Newt whatsoever. The "Family Values" people will not take to this real well. One reason why I simply don't believe Newt is electable.

Lol, no what it generally means is, "I'm a straight guy who wants to screw around and haven't yet thought about how much easier it's going to be for my wife to hook up than it will be for me."

Perry's last Ideologica stand was his totally off statement that "Turkey is run by Terrorists' and should have theire support check cut off from the US. He was castigated yesterday over his inflaming statement by the State Department and of course by Turkey. I believe this was part of his undoing, thankfully this far right Christian Fundi's Ideology has now taken him out of the picture.

Gingrich is next, he stated yesterday that "If I don't win Saturday, we will pick a 'MODERATE' (Romney) then Obama will win. Gotta love Gingrich's high opinion of himself in thinking he's the repub savior and I for one look forward to this damn Neo Con Israeli Lobby lap dog going home with his tail between his legs.

The ex-wife interview will overshadow all the other news of the day.

    Sex sells.

Whether it will cost Gitrich votes is unclear.

Revelations that came out about Bill Clinton's extramarital infidelities didn't hurt him in the 1992 campaign.

But the details of Gitrich's sleazy amoral behavior - while he was spewing out claims to be a "family values" Repub - will definitely hurt the reputation of the Repub party and add to the mountain of facts and evidence that have come to light in recent years about the hypocrisy of the Repub party on moral values.

This story makes the Repub even more of a laughing stock on "family values"!
