    Guys,

I've been taking ZMA capsules for the past few months. Originally started it because a guy over on Men's Health says it helps promote sleep. Not sure about that, but I'm almost convinced it has helped me become more "cut."

I really haven't changed my routine or diet all that much, but have noticed a reduction in body fat and more muscle definition. Plus the abs are showing a bit more.

Anbody else have experience with this supp?

Hmm... had to look that one up. It's just zinc, magnesium, B6, and some herbs that are supposed to contain L-dopa. Presumably, unless you have an oddly deficient diet, any effects would come from the L-dopa.

Most people get more than enough magnesium from drinking water, and many can get their zinc that way too. (Um... if you're curious about YOUR water, it just happens that I analyze that stuff for a living...)

The thing about supplements is that to determine whether they really have an effect, you have to change NOTHING in your life except that you start taking the supplement. My all-time favorite supplement instruction was "take two capsules before your workout. Then, put extra effort into your workout." Results were guaranteed!

    Mindgarden,

Thanks for checking into that. I like those instructions. That would make everything work. Ha-ha.

Like I said, I really didn't change anything unless I subconciously started putting more effort into everything. But after this bottle is gone, I think I'll cycle off and see what happens.

I do remember when researching it, the proportions of the zinc, magnesium, and B6 had to be just right, and then taken before bed. Also the label states it is "Natural anabolic support."

ZMA, Zinc monomethionine aspartate and Magnesium Aspartate, is the product that put BALCO on the map (See Barry Bonds et al) is a cocktail of precursers for testosterone production. I have used it in cycles over the past few years and have indeed noticed a change in my body when I taken it, notable in some occasionally BIZARRE dreams and a more "cut", "Harder" definition. I have done 3 month cycles on it, changing nothing else in my diet, to really see if it was the ZMA and I feel confident it was. Be sure to take it about an hour before bed, on an empty stomach; meaning you haven't eaten anything within about 2 hours of bedtime.

    ww1969,

Maybe we are on to something then. Ran into a guy this Saturday on Sandy Hook, NJ beach who claimed to be a "natural" bodybuilder. 50 years old... cut, trim, muscular. Big fan of ZMA.

i would be scared if my dreams got any crazier.

I had a dream Tommy Tancredo was fighting actual space aliens. Who dreams about political candidates who don't even have a chance?
