This is a trend that i really just don't understand. On any social site, you'll see tons and tons of people taking pictures of themselves while they're driving. I just don't get it. And I don't mean someone snapping the pic from the passenger seat. I'm talkin gaobut the almost-head-on self-pics people take while driving. or even just behind the wheel.

I just don't get it. Do people have a moment of, "you know what, the lighting from my windshield makes me look especially good today"??

I enjoy using flash when I take pictures of myself while driving. The blinding light that lingers in my eyes afterwards makes driving a lot more fun.

I posted this pic on Facebook last summer, and some of my friends practically freaked out.

It is kind of odd that so many guys have profile pics of themselves driving. I never understood that. Unless maybe they live in their cars...

I agree - as a driving professional, I do find the sheer number of people with 'while driving' pics to be a bit more than just disconcerting....

How many self-pics while driving (SPWDs) are taken while the car is in motion, though? Most of the SPWDs I see appear to be taken while the car is stopped, since I can make out clear details through the car windows.

good point, but not sure that matters. the "while driving" part isn't as relevant as why people feel the need to take pics of themselves behind the wheel of their cars

    It's a Volvo XC60 ... we are good lesbians.

EDIT: I can't remember if we have this package (It's actually my hubby's car, I drive a bike), but the cruise control speed on the left side turns into a cute little coffee cup if it detects you drifting out of your lane.

I don't know if I have a copy any more... Years ago, I was on one of those "Discovery Channel" shows and the director insisted on filming me driving my car. But no... the lighting was insufficient, and the sun was going down. So they suckered some movie lights onto the outside of the windshield, to light up my face, and had me drive down the cliff road into the Grand Coulee.

Camera man in the passenger seat, director and the sound guy - holding a boom mike over my head - in the back seat. Sun going down. Thousand-foot drop-off to the left. I could barely see what side of the road I was on.

Now give a science lecture. And we're going to put it on TV. It actually ended up looking as if it were broad daylight. I hope it looked as if I was excited about the topic, and not "we're all gonna die!"

I have driven very fast myself though. In Germany there are no speed laws on most highways. My top speed was 220km/h

They have about as much of a moment taking a pic in their cars as say, Oh...I don't know, someone taking a pic in a gym locker room, OP. I'm just saying. I think you'll see more of the latter especially on this site. Hahahahaha.

Next time you see someone in the car wearing a seatbelt...ask yourself.
Is the engine running? Car moving? Can't tell? Then why are we discussing this?

I rely on navigation software to warn for traffic jams.

The lastest northeast snowstorm attracts tools armed with a 4x4/SUV/AWDs making the news after another (18-wheeler-passing+spinout==major fail) blocks all lanes of I-5 northbound.

If I have to switch to camera, I have to find my reading glasses first. icon_cry.gif

Well, taking a pic in the gym makes much more sense to me.
