In my opinion, Santorum was the winner. Came across as truthful, passionate, and honest/unapologetic about his convictions. Would rather lose sticking to his beliefs than win running on a platform he doesnt believe in.

Newt and Romney looked like two used car salesmen dodging questions and spinning the facts to suit their needs.

    Paul seemed largely ignored.

Paul has been purposely ignored and I am amazed that he's doing so well under the circumstances of the Media choosing Romney and Gingrich to lead by giving them more airtime. LOL !!

Santorum gave them hell, but it didn't help him he's only at 9%, Honestly as much as I dislike Gingrich, he pulled off a good one over being questioned about his marriages.

I noticed that the crowd wouldn't let Paul be ignored last night. On the abortion question they were going to skip Ron Paul completely but the audience made a fuss and they went back and let him have a say.

I have to agree with how you summed up the debate.

I think it was Romney by a hair, with Gingrich a close 2nd mostly because I like how he stood up to John King (as did the audience) and, as he has in every debate, he delivered the best zingers of the night. Ron Paul held his own, and somewhat better than he has in previous debates, and I loved how the crowd was NOT going to allow him to be ignored. I really lost some respect for CNN and John King last night. I really hated the obvious attempts they made to steer the debate in an unnecessary direction and minimize Ron Paul. As for Rick Santorum, I just think he comes off as a wannabe, trying to hard to paint himself as the "most qualified" when he just isn't and no one else is buying it either. Romney, even with his perceived flaws, still comes off, in my opinion, as the closest to "The Total Package", the best shot the GOP has to really beat Obama, with the least chance of potential skeletons in the closet that could come back to bite him.
