I never take naps and I don't like to! The only time I ever take naps is when I'm sick and on medication.

But I had a crazy work filled two weeks and last night I stayed up late doing some work, and I think it finally caught up to me.

I got home from work at about 4 this afternoon and I was about to go hit the gym and I sat down at my bed to plug my phone in and charge it, and from there I don't remember anything after that. Next thing I know, I hear my phone ring and I woke up and its 10:30 at night! I freaked the eff out! I was still in my Jeans and shoes. Kind of strange that's never happened to me. I was completely out too, because I had 6 missed calls and 4 Texts, none of which woke me up till the very last call.

Naps are the best. Your body can only go so long before it crashes. I was the nap king in college. I had one almost every afternoon

Proper rest is as important as working out for good health...

"Get some sleep: Your body recuperates best when you shut it down, so grab eight hours of shut eye per night if you can."

Btw, I am glad you werent behind the wheel of your car when your brain shut down.

I have to now otherwise I would be a basket case. I don't sleep much during the night. Last night I was awake from 1:20 AM to 4:30 AM, then fell back to sleep for a couple of hours. Would not be surprised if I nap a bit this afternoon. I am on vacation so that is alright.

I'm not really big on naps but if I'm really exhauseted I'll find a nice quiet place and meditate for about 20 minutes. It really refreshes me.

I usually don't nap, I am a super busy guy. Working 2 jobs and trying to maintain a social life is hard work! haha. Although friday nights when I know I might be out late I try to get a nap in after work. I am that kind of guy who NEEDS his sleep, so when I know I'm gonna be missing some of it, I try to be proactive!

Studies have shown that naps can help you catch up on lost sleep whereas they use to say not. I will take a nap on occasions and most of the time it is with my baby. We napped yesterday for about an hour.
I have recently started using a C-PAP so I try not to nap as much since I stop breathing in my sleep I figure a nap will actually cause me to be more tired. Nap away I say!

Chizzad...I highly doubt that you and "Lawson" are doing any napping buddy boy....lol. icon_twisted.gif

This answers it for me exactly. Naps don't work for me. If I am sick and try to take naps, they leave me groggy after I wake up.....so - no naps for me.

My body wants to nap right now...I am not just tired but have a terrible anxiety feeling with it. But the body wont settle down and sleep.

I am actually in a Catch-22. I dont want to nap because it will throw off trying to get back on a normal nightly sleep schedule. But I feel like I could crawl out of my skin right now.

    YES!

if my body tells me i'm tired, i sleep. i don't result to coffee to stay awake.

when i was in college, my swim practices were sooo intense! double pool workouts plus weights and dryland. if i had 30 minutes in between classes, i'd go to my dorm and sleep for 20. i needed it!!

i think i'll take one right now. icon_smile.gif

I could use a nap right now! When I was in college I napped all the time. I didn't work cuz I was in the Army Reserves and was getting payed to go to school. My life was rough during school lol, Napped almost everyday ha ha. Now though, I work and lift and play.....No time! NONE AT ALL! I can't even nap anymore, busy busy!

They feel great up to the point you know you napped to long and you are lathargic from in for a while...sucks, but oddly feels great.

    Cheers

I take a short 20 or 30 minute nap in the afternoon anytime I can. It really makes a difference.

..any chance I get, I hit the bed or the couch.

My Mom claims it's genetic as my entire family are "sleepers"....

I typically take a one to two hour nap every day and then sleep a good 8 hours every night...and still find time to do everything I need to do on any given day.icon_eek.gif

Yes, but generally only in the summer. Since the days are longer I don't feel like I'm wasting any time outdoors if I'm knocked out for just an hour or two.

I do the same. I make my college schedule so I can crash for an hour or two every afternoon.
