So I went with a group last week and while my camera's battery died half way through; I think this gives you the general idea. I was drooling at a lot of the cars and laughing at others. Good times like usual.......icon_cool.gificon_biggrin.gif

My bud who goes every year usually gets the preview pass that way avoiding the crowds and children but the price went up to $95 this year I think he said and opted out instead just figuring yesterday (Thurs) would be alright, kids in school etc. .He didn't make it.. drove around for almost an hour looking for a parking spot, all the street and garage parking full for blocks around so he just came home. He's gonna pay the steep price next year. I haven't been in years to the show.. was always a yearly event that my dad and I attended.

This year had crowds to the show that hadn't been seen in many years. Also, cops have been cracking down on street parking because so many cars are broken into and so it forces people into secured structures and lots for downtown events. They've also cracked down on homeless people that have obtained an orange cone and an orange vest and set up at the entrance of a private lot collecting money and making it seem like they are official. It's all made it very difficult to park. The key is do not drive around looking for a place to park. Find a parking garage near a people mover station a ways away and take the people mover to Cobo Hall where the auto show is held. There is a station inside the hall.

Iceblink Both vids and the photostream work for me when I play em, so I dunno whats up.

Second yes Its best to park far away and take the people mover, we usually park at Greektown casino( for free) and take the PM over its a whopping 75cents each way per person....ha

Apparently he did try all that and gave up.. I would have as well because I don't have a lot of patience and if that meant the hall was jammed with people even worse. Pushing your way thru crowds, you can't hardly get up to some cars let alone get in them. However, it's a bright spot for the city to get all those crowds and can't deny that. I sometimes go to Greektown or MotorCity on a Fri or Sat night and in the summer it's quite busy at night, lotsa cars and people
