Look up antiwar.com and go to the article: "WIPED OFF THE MAP- THE RUMOR OF THE CENTURY"

"Across the world, a dangerous rumor has spread that could have catastrophic implications. According to legend, Iran's president has threatened to destroy Israel, or, TO QUOTE THE MISQUOTE, "ISRAEL MUST BE WIPED OFF THE MAP."

"Contrary to popular belief, THIS STATEMENT WAS NEVER MADE."

I read this news when I was in India back. It was published long time ago in 2006 may be in 2008 or 2009. It was published in all the leading newspapers and I also saw it broadcasted in BBC.

Yes it is old news, but the Israeli Lobby AIPAC has revived it and the US officials are using this misquoted statement to back possible war on IRAN, hense bringing up the subject to get the truth out as to what was really said. The facts are that IRAN DID NOT THREATEN TO WIPE ISRAEL OFF THE MAP.

Isn't it amazing that people would base a war on this false information and often refuse to believe the truth and refuse to even research it ?
