    Hey all,

Maybe some of you guys can help me... What happens after 2nd job interview?

I was interviewing for an associate (institutional sales) position in a boutique investment firm dealing with private equity and hedge funds. I just went for my 2nd interview and i was told that i was shortlisted from 100+ to 30-40 candidates for the 2nd round (There is only 1 opening). I was really surprised cuz it aint a bulge bracket bank and yet the competition is sooooo fierce. Gosh.. Just when i thought i am close to getting the job and the waiting game continues againnnnnn....

    Just gotta rant... icon_sad.gif

    I'm happy for you.

    It sounds like good news.

Of course, you can answer the question better than we can because you must have been told when and what the next point of contact would be.

It's probably the same as with any interview process. Right now, you're competing with 30-40 other people in the 2nd round. The next step will be to whittle this down to probably 10-15 candidates for the 3rd round, then probably 5 for the 4th and final round. It is possible that they skip one round and go right to the final 5-10 for final interviews.

    Good luck.
