So my neighbor's daughter is into Roller Derby and has asked if she can join me at the gym. She's wanting a little direction. Seems plyometrics and a full body workout (perhaps a Spartacus session) and some crossfit WODs (i.e. Fight gone bad) seem to be called for.

Anything specific to minimize injury when she's competing? She's been a derby girl in the states and found a team here to join.

The one thing that I've learned from skateboarding is, learn how to fall in order to minimize injury. The same might could be said rollerskating/derby. So maybe work on flexibility, and maybe build up core strength. Plyo is a good idea to improve burst speed and reaction time. Also, standard leg strength training.. squats, deadlifts, etc.
