How to gain weight and muscle! I hate being skinny

    I went to gym almost 2 years but I just get fit but still skinny! I really hate being skinny cuz im the top.

    cool! I need your help then..I am 138 lbs with 5.7 high but I need more weight. I need about like 154 lbs..I eat a lot and went gym but I didnt gain more weight at all.

    Im thinking about Protein pills or something else to help for getting bigger.

    Do you have any idea about that?

    I'm with you on this one; I have gaining mass issues too.

    Eat complex carbs, like whole wheat pasta, breads. Oatmeal (not the instant packets kind) helps in feeding your muscles and keeping you full throughout the day.

    Don't forget water too! Our body tissues are mostly water, so drink it up!

    Try mass-gainers (watch out for filler products that are mostly sugars) and creatine for supplements.

    Eh, thats all I can think of now.

    the "secret" is juice. No body you see on any pic, like "slim" and "natural" look can be done without the jucie...

    Although I'm not against it (I know several guys who used it), it's naive to say roids alone do the trick. Often times, especially for scrawny guys, nutrition is the one to blame. If your nutrition sucks, even if you manage to put on lean mass during the cycle, you're going to lose it as soon as you finish it because there is no way your body will be able to sustain this extra lean mass without the necessary energy.

    Moreover, being lean comes for free if you have the right genes. My body fat was 5.1% not too long ago and the only reason it's 7% now is because I need to EAT to gain lean mass. The fat I gain, I assure you, is proportional to the lean mass I gain.

    Scrawny guys need carbs. Period. If you are not eating enough carbs, it doesn't matter how much protein you eat, your body will use it as (a very expensive source of) energy. Since carbs are not made equal, it takes some research or the help of a sports nutritionist to help you eat what you need in the right amounts, often underestimated by skinny guys. Right now I'm eating 5000Kcal/day and I never thought I would need so much. It is one thing eating 5000Kcal on junk food, but eating anything over 2500Kcal/day on healthy foods alone is a challenge, which is why I stress the importance of a sports nutritionist to help you pick the right foods and decide when you need to eat them, which is tricky and has to be adjusted to your lifestyle.

    WTF is a "protein pill"?!?!!?!?

    AejA87 said it all. Lift heavy and eat. Clean protein. FOOD is the best source. Protein supplements are good - most on RJ use them - but keep in mind it is a SUPPLEMENT, not a primary source. And you generally can only absorb about 50 or so grams at a time. The rest is literally pissed away.

    Stay focused. Stay dedicated. Allow enough recovery time. And keep going. Some guys are hard gainers - I am one of them. Don't get caught up in time frames. If it takes 6 months or if it takes a year it is the RESULT that matters.

    I agree! But since many of us are becoming muscular for sex and requited love, poor skinny and fat guys need to know what to do with their sex/love lives during this long wait (longer for some than for others) MHO: learn to enjoy life without sex and requited romantic love if need be. Life is much more than that (though our culture says the opposite)

    No one - NO ONE - needs to live without Love or sex. Sex is somewhat optional in terms of need but Love is NOT.

    And your "advice" that ANYONE learn to live without it until they achieve some mass-market, People Magazine, 3 dollar ideal of what pecs and abs should look like is so insanely backwards that it almost defies gravity.
