    Hey guys,
I've seen alot of recipies (some successful, many..not) on baking muffins with various amounts of protien powders, but,,,most of these seem somewhat limited to pumpkin or bran, and..The muffin recipies that I have tried to bake as Loaf breads do not turn out right at all.I'd loke to get a high quality taste in a high protein slice. Any chemistry majors or bakery chefs out there who have experimented with baking quick breads with proten powder, like..carrot bread, zucchini bread, banana bread, lemon poppyseed breads, etc.? Also, any recommendations on which type of powder to use would be helpful. I understand whey is preferable over soy. -haven't tried hemp, but would like to stick to an affordable one.

Unless you also use a good amount of flour and a shortening substance don't hold your breath for a protein powder bread that genuinely falls into the category of "oh this tastes good!". The best you can hope for is "I can sorta palate this and hopefully I'll be less hungry".

I haven't tried making it, but here is a link to Jamie Eason's cinnamon swirl protein bread.

I tried it three times with banana bread. I put obscene amounts of baking soda/powder in, but the bread was too hard. I think protein powder is too dense. I put yogurt in it. That worked better. But it wasn't "OMG! I have to make this again!"
