Time for the throw down fellas, between the greats which one do you think is best?

    The contenders are:

    The Simpsons
    Futurama
    Family Guy
    South Park
    American Dad!

    Which one shall win?

(Note, if you dont like any of them and want to add another cartoon, dont. I dont care. I am mostly interested in rating and comparing satirical comics that actually critique society. Why is Family Guy on this list? I dont know...)

    Let the voting begin!

    Mine goes to American Dad!

Agreed with that, love futurama. Simpsons has some great ones but the newer episodes are just...eh

    Futurama.

Getting cancelled by Fox was the best thing that ever happened for them, just keeps getting funnier.

South park.... Cuz as a satirical show its way more intelligent and spot on with a lot of issues. Granted it has slumped in recent seasons but as has family guy, simpsons and futurama. American dad has been pretty awesome the whole way through, but my vote goes to south park.

Side note: if this was about cartoons in general I would vote venture brothers, but that's hardly a satire.

if you're going to pit the best episodes ever, family guy and american dad miss the cut by miles.

simpsons, 1-13, was smart and funny and touching in a way few shows have ever been.

futurama is entertaining, but also strikes gold with strong emotive-centered works. the episode "the sting" is particularly beautiful.

south park is sharp and intelligent at its best while also being painfully ludicrous and hilarious.

I agree with Family Guy but American Dad has some great satire in it.

Simpsons was super duper good from seasons 6-9, after that it starts falling lackluster. Best episode ever? Homer, badman.

    So...fucking...good...

I think Family Guy is the most popular and will last the longest.

But my money's riding on this dark horse, baby: Futurama.
My heart is saying it's the lucky one.

    Also... Wuzzles.

    South park all the way.

Even though they only have 2 more seasons left.

Eric Cartman is the most genius cartoon character ever created. One episode is enough to prove my point: Scott Temmerman must die!

and now, screw you guys, im going hawm icon_biggrin.gif

South Park is running out of ideas. Lately, half the episodes are political and the other half are varying degrees of funny. Sometimes they attack things that are good, (objectively good) and I think they are just trying to have an opinion without believing in it.

I personally hold South Park responsible for making "gay" a popular replacement to stupid, and accidentally engendering homophobia in a wide audience of soon-to-be adults.

That one is just a little extreme now isnt it Skinnybitch?

Even so, the younger generation and soon-to-be adults support gay equality more than the generation before hand...

No one will probably beat the legacy of the Simpsons. But, right now, my favorite is 'American Dad'.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE when south park does wacky, or they ridicule an opinion that is hypocritical.

I was in high school when South Park started airing, and after 2 episodes all the boys were imitating the characters on it. It was funny for a couple days but they WOULD NOT LET IT GO. And then came the replacement of "stupid" with "gay" and they all followed suit. All the kids within earshot since have felt like the world is a colder place for them. The kids who learned it from other kids assume it's to ridicule gays and join in.

Yeah, the X-Men cartoon was amazing - especially its interpretation of the Dark Phoenix Saga. AWESOME.

Of the choices above, I go with Simpson's. It may not have the edge of a Family Guy or South Park, but it makes up for it in a kind of sweet innocence.
