Mercy me! What is with this mass aversion that so many gay men of every race seem to have towards the erotic and aesthetic offerings of Asian/Pacific islander men? I've dated many asians of various persuasions and have rarely been disappointed. There's so much variety. I am just not understanding this? What is it? I'm particularly interested in hearing from asians not attracted to asians. And don't give me a load of sociological/anthropological hooey. Lay it out to me (nuts, bolts and butts), and don't skimp on the details!

It comes down to sexual preference. If a guy does not turn a man on then he does not turn a man on.

If it happens that so far, all the Asian men he has met have not turned him on, then so be it.

I didn't know that there was any kind of an asian aversion.

Asian men are so often so sexy... the body, the eyes, the smile.

Not quite sure what you're talking about.

I think this Asian aversion is very obvious when you look at what some gay men write in their profiles on such sites as Gaydar and Manhunt.

Usually, this deep-seated racism is expressed like this:

    "Not into Asians".

    or

"Sorry, no Asians, just a preference"

So, effectively these people are writing off a whole race (although I'm not sure South East Asians are the same as those from Kenya but anyway).

It is reminiscent of those signs that used to be put on the doors of London boarding houses by landladies who knew no better in the 50s and 60s: "No blacks, no Irish, no dogs".

Why can't guys say something like "generally I'm attracted to caucasian men" rather than write off whole races. But I guess that would involve too much thought.

Probably not the best one to respond since I do like Asian men, but usually only Asian Americans. I have a reeeeally strong aversion to Asian accents... some people might find it cute but to me it just makes me feel like I'm talking to my dad/uncle. Instant limp.

ive always been an "equal opportunity fucker"icon_wink.gif...but tend to gravitate towards the tall(or short) dark, and handsome....its funny my 1st boyfriend was a blond haired blue eyed son of a preacher man from West Virginia, though my "tastes" tend to fluctuate, like for ex: at one moment i want a particular type of desert, the next somthing completly different, i take pride in my versatility, and openness...other wise i would feel completly deprived of all the immense beauty that gravitates around me and existance as i know it would be very mundaneicon_sad.gif

ha...but don't you have an aversion to asians in general!

I'm not saying that you hate asian people...but you have said you just are not attracted to them.

not trying to start anything...just making an observation based on what you have previously said

I am not loosing any sleep over anyone that have limited "taste palettes" (which applies to all activities in our daily lives; not exclusively to the issue discussed in hand) -- instant limp..... I am Asian, not ABC, have slight native accent, but I speak better English than most caucasians. I could shed my accent entirely but I am proud of my heritage and it is the only thing left in me that reminds me of where I came from. At this point of my life, I am neitehr "asian" as I have been assimilated into the western culture nor a "westerner" ..... Do I loose any sleep? Nope.

I am always fasinated by the male physique(in all shape, color, and sizes) -- therefore, I truly don't understand others that have aversions to other men of opposite "qualities" especially the issue of skin color.

I have never met any Asian men that remotely attracted to me ... I do however get the cold glare from my own race. Sad and scary .... hey, not loosing any sleep. LOL.... GAM and GAM "encounter" is still in my fantasy list ... I need to cross that out of the list.... LOL...

I completely agree with you, redheadguy!! However, I rather you advertise your "racism" in your profile instead of concealing them in the interest of time issue and endless eCommunications. I am getting old and endless bullshit does not interest me. Get to the point and I shall respect you.

I also agree with you EMSman. But have you walked into a room where you are the odd person out and everyone is giving you the stink eye. I am sure you have. We all gaymen have been and is still being discriminated by the "others". So, I also partially disagree with you. Apply the concept of openmindedness ... comes back to varying your "taste palette".

This is just my opinion. And I do respect your opinions. I am proud of who I am -- my ethnicity, heritage, physical attributes, intellectually, and personality. Confidence, sense of humor, and sense of adventure (regardless age, skin color, cock size, etc...)step in front of the line.....

    Need I say more?

Off off topic -- I hate sun tanning. It looks like I have a permanent farmer tan from all the long races I participated this summer so far. My body looks like a freaking road map to Shangrila .... LOL

    Peace and cheers to all....

Very true. I'm not denying that at all. icon_confused.gif

Then again, most of the Asians people you are referring to are those who are more exposed to the western culture. Asians who have grown up in westernized areas, immigrants, and naturalized citizens in western countries.

Asians who can barely speak English or who had never liked watching foreign TV or books are much more homogeneous in their attraction.

Note that you are only seeing a very small percentage of the Asian gay men population - those that interact outside of their cultures. The Asian fascination with the Caucasian culture is not even limited to gay men. It extends out to most everybody, men and women, touched by western ideals.

So okay, no anthropological/sociological bullshit, what else would then be the reason?

And to clarify orthojock's erm... accusation, yes I am attracted to Asian men. It depends on a person to person basis, but most of the Asians I've met do not attract me. Either for language barriers, different mindsets, or simply the wrong physical 'triggers' (whatever you call them, the things that appeal to you physically - I am attracted to bigger/stocky men, body hair, and the caucasian nose structure). It means that it's more likely that I wouldn't feel a 'spark' with another Asian than I would with other races.

Why does this always come up and everyone starts pointing fingers at everybody else that it's racist. *sigh*

I didn't realize my race made me so unattractive!

To be honest, I've gotten used to the profiles that read "Not into Asians." Now that I think about it, I'm not really into ugly white people, or ugly black people, or ugly latinos, or ugly Asians.

However, 8 years ago (when I was young and naive) I went to my first sex party and I was in a threesome with this hot black guy and really hot Korean jock. Totally hot! Oh, those were the days.

Here we go again. Another thread why Asian dont like another Asian. I am here, full blooded Asian, obses with another Asian. No , not ABC, Mixed race, Mestizos, or Asian in the outside , white in the inside. Give me a tough muscular native Muay Thai fighter from Thailand, a construction Indonesian worker , Vietnamese man working in the rice field or a Chinese Red Army guarding Tianemen Square.
Of course I like white or black guys but that didnt diminish my obssesion for fellow Asian.

Talking about Pacific Islander , Esera Tualo with his tan skin, wonderful smile and muscular body are perfect ten in my scale.

I'd be glad to reiterate why I find myself less attracted to Asian men than white men, but it would all be sociological/anthropological hooey.

So long as somebody isn't saying they will never date someone of x religion, y nationality or z body type, can't it be left at innocuous personal preference, and not some larger subversive menace?

Yeah, I never understood guys who say, "No Asians," in their profiles. Do they think that by proclaiming their racism, it somehow makes them more desirable? Weird.
From my perspective, I think you're a fool if you cut Asian men out of your sex life. Asian men are beautiful, and sensual, and just plain hot.
