WTF, Time? Could someone in Europe or Asia mail me a copy of this? He's one of my biggest heroes.

I remember John Stewart did a bit on US vs. EU time magazine

The EU cover was about the break down of some political pact and the consequences.

THe USA had 'Ice Cream is Still delicious' (Ben and Jerry's anniversary)

I remember that Daily Show segment. I guess Time's EU vs US covers are a fairly accurate reflection of American culture and its indifference to the rest of the world. Most here probably have no idea who Leo Messi is.

I for one would have been tickled if Time put a soccer player on its magazine cover the week before the Super Bowl. icon_biggrin.gif

Let them do whatever they feel will sell the most magazines.

In that case, they should put Twilight on the cover every week... like their sister magazine Entertainment Weekly does. icon_smile.gif

To be honest I don't recognize who he is.

But Time Magazine is notorious for this kind of thing (different magazine covers for the U.S. version)

Time's editors would be lynched if they ran with that cover in the U.S. Why? The largest consumer market in the U.S., middle America, not only believes that Tim Tebow is their resurrected lord and savior, but that he is also the best athlete in the world. icon_lol.gif

Americans only read Time, Newsweek, or U.S. News while sitting in a doctor's or dentist's office waiting room.

I'm honestly shocked they didn't run Tebow instead of that boring article about shyness.

This. I have never actually read a single article in those magazines except in the waiting room. At that, I most likely skimmed or just looked at the pictures.

Best magazine there is. I want to write for them. Much classier than Time.

    That was hard.

Nobody in the U.S. would even know who he is. I agree it is dumb what they have to put on American covers to sell magazines compared to the rest of the world.
