Do you believe that spirits of the dead exist, although no empirical scientific evidence currently confirms them?
I personally have not had a paranormal experience yet.

In 2005, Gallup polls conducted in three countries—the United States, Canada, and Great Britain—showed that more people believe in haunted houses than any of the other paranormal items tested, with 37% of Americans, 28% of Canadians, and 40% of Britons believing.

    What is a ghost?

The disembodied soul of a once living person?

There has never been any scientific evidence pointing to the existence of a soul, so I would say no.

Human bodies are made of matter, which is composed of various arangements of particles obeying the laws of physics.

You, me, the food you just ate, the stars and the device you are reading this on are all the same - just an amalgamation of particles acting out the laws of physics.

Why would something science cannot prove not exist? THats like saying if you cant measure it through science, it doesnt exist.. or if you cant see it yourself with your own eyes, it doesnt exist.. perhaps someone else does *shrugs* science is not a perfect measurement tool

I think they exist especially if multiple people experience the same thing. I don't believe in consistent coincidences.

It would just be best to stay neutral, I guess. Science can disprove or even prove their existence. Just not now..

Of course science is not a perfect tool.

It's just the best one we have.

I'm not sure they're spirits of people that once lived, but I do believe in ghosts and supernatural stuff. Think I've lived in a haunted place, and my cousin has lived in two!

Science proves nothing. It only seeks to disprove everything.

Exactly. People once thought the earth was flat, which we know isn't the case. Science is great but it can only explain so much.

I believe in them but I hate the show "Ghost Adventures" though. Their shit seems overhyped and their evidence is really weak.

No, I don't. I would actually wager I'm one of the least receptive people you will ever meet on believing in any of the supernatural.

Then perhaps you should see a medium or a psychic to tell you many things you probably never told anyone else....

Oh, honey, your so wrong. Scientists, look for proof things exist, if you lack verifyible proof we just don't accept your findings. We scientists also know that you "can't prove something does not exist, you can only prove that it does"

But, when it comes to the paranormal, it's not that random EM fields, and other phenomena exist, there's not a measurable way to connect it to a spirit, ghost or whatever.

That still does not imply that "that, which you cannot measure, is not there" ...science is only useable for that which we can measure.. ths subject is about things that cannott be measured and nobody ever claimed to be able to measure.. thus, using science, which uses measuring, as an argument to refute this, which is unmeasurable, is not even logical

Well I would say. the first rule of science is that anything proven is always and at any time disproveable afterwards..

And thanks for chiming in on science.. like you said... spirits are NOT measurable... science CANNOT prove something DOES NOT exist ..

Thats why i keep saying... the argument that "spirits don't exist because science has not proven them to exist" is scientifically invalid

Because even in 2012, some people see things that aren't real. They're hallucinating, either because they're half asleep, dehydrated, have a fever, are mentally ill or just on drugs or alcohol.

Or they just believe it so much that they think any weird noise or shadow in the dark could be a ghost. And some people just like to sound interesting to get attention.

I won't believe it until I see it close up myself, that is, in a sober state and fully awake.

Yes they do. Try useing a old camera called the camera of obscura. Go out after 11:30pm-3am (best ghost time), wear a white shirt ( ghost like light colors best), and for the piece of la resistance believe don't fake believe.

Ghost feed on human aura if you don't believe they will never appear in front of you. Ghost like to take a form they don't like to be asked will you lift ... out of my hand or do something dumb.

Ghost have a strange tone machines can't reproduce yet or never will. Ghost who fear cameras are will o wisp (poes) these are soul collectors. They live in foggy/ bog areas. They look like a floating candle light.

    I'll post more later.

Okay science can prove so much. Wich is what alchemy says in 3 laws. One states the Law of Equvilant exchange to make something has to give something of equal amount.

A good example is exercizing you need at least equal energy for you're body to get a great exercize.

But, there is a taboo human alchemy is forbidden. Even with our advanced science why can't we reproduce a human. But, only by man & Woman can it be done with x & y chromosomes.

The ability is forbidden to produce life. Unless you understand alchemy how can you understand the supernatural?

I learned alot of this from the show full metal alchemist and the video games Fatal frame aka in japan Project 0.

So they see them? maybe they arent real, maybe they are.. that's where the question of belief lies... is it a hallucination? or are you seeing something that is actually there? How you answer that question is up to you... to each his own

I try not to believe but there are many unexplainable things in this world we live in today. Do these things exist? still very questioning on a form on black and white factors.

On my own opinion yes things do exist as energy vibrations are part of everything.

I do see things in side vision, when you meditate more your sensitivity increases. Not everyone has a balance 7 plexus these days by default many are with strong Red and Yellow plexus only! ,like those with a strong Yellow plexus dont get disturb easily but their daily life is in control, and like your sex life is good or great then you know your first red orange plexus are strong.

Only those with a strong Indigo plexus sees things very very easily.icon_biggrin.gif

My father once dropped out of school at a relatively young age. On his way back to the farm he was walking through the woods and ran into a woman (!?) who proceeded to chat with him and basically give him shit for his decision. When he got home he mentioned it to his uncle (who was raising him, since my dad was orphaned) because (a) it was odd, and (b) my dad thought he knew just about everyone in the district.

When he described the woman his uncle just about flipped because my dad described his mom, down to the dress she was buried in (which happened when he was a baby). My dad was absolutely convinced until the day he died that he met up with his mom's ghost at a really difficult time in his life.

A hallucination Mr. Judo Master? Maybe, but there was the issue of the facial description and the dress that relatives often mused about for years afterward.

Interestingly I had a very old relative relay the story to me independently several years after my dad died. Turns out she was at the farm the day my dad came home from his walk in the woods and remembered it quite well.

I'm not sure I believe in ghosts (believe it when I see it) but I won't dismiss the idea out of hand either.
