Hmm... I went so long without Siri, now that I have a phone new enough for it, I never use it. Doesn't seem like it fills any pressing need.

w/o powering up the phone hold the home button and

say; "calculate the tip on $22.37" and it will give you some options.

say; "convert 22 inches to cm" and get 55.88 cm

    seems to do some simple math "22 + 55 + 11 + 33 =" and get 121

I never use Siri on my iPad except to test silly things it does, like when you ask her to divide zero by zero. My Samsung phone has Google's voice recognition, and I seldom use it. Same with the Google website in Chrome browser on my PC. Even the voice command system in my Ford Escape is more gimmick than truly useful.

if i have the cursor located right in the area on my iPhone, i started using SIRI to enter the street address + zip code for the iPhone street map app. Seems to work well for this. success using SIRI you need to more or less say the exact text commands.

if apple ported SIRI to the desktop osx i would use it more
