    The following is Christian website helping people with sexual problems such as addictions. You may not agree with what the author is proposing for homosexuals (abstinence and faith in God) but I found some of the articles, e.g. on homosexual men's narcissism, unwillingness by the gay community to accept alternatives to "safe sex" [i.e. predominance of anal] and pornography addiction gave some quite perceptive observations:

    http://www.pureintimacy.org/gr/homosexuality/

    One of the things that resonated with me was the point about sexual desire being a confining rather than a liberating thing. There was also an article on serial killer Ted Bundy's last interview before his execution and his problems with pornography (I don't know how genuine this interview was though).

    Anyway, worth a look.

    It's almost funny. Just for starters, the selective use of quotes out of context is typical of an illogical approach to a subject.

    Secondly, believing in something doesn't make it true no matter how powerful the belief - in fact, psychotic behaviour is based on believing something that isn't true.

    The issue of narcissism is equally a problem in the straight community as well. Is there any more a narcissictic type statement than a straight person saying "I know more about homosexuality than someone who is homosexual and therefore, I am right in my beliefs."

    I'll accept the argument "willingness by the gay community to accept alternatives to "safe sex"" as soon as the christians are willing to acknowldge thier "willingness by the straight community to accept alternatives to "premarital sex" and "safe sex".

    Oh please, I could go on and on, but really, what a waste of time.

    Ted Bundy, a well known homosexual. Didn't Jeff Dahmer eat him?

    Yeah, I read a number of the pages. The teleological nonsense on why homosexuality is abnormal was an embarrassment to humanity's intellect. bgcat57 is right about it being a waste of time.

    One thing I will respond to is andy2134's comment, "One of the things that resonated with me was the point about sexual desire being a confining rather than a liberating thing." I grew up with this idea, and it is woefully incorrect. Nobody liberates themselves by alienating themselves from their bodies (and their humanity) with a futile attempt at supressing their sex drives - and contrary to Christian dogma, it doesn't follow that simply because someone hasn't found a life partner that he or she lacks a libido that can be legitimately satiated.

    According to Google, I'm only a 3.5 hour drive away. I was thinking about heading to Atlanta at some point soon anyway. I need something new from Fort Troff and I hate to shop online.

    As far as I know, the ONLY way you can shop Ft. Troff is online...Not that I've been there or anything like that, because I do not believe in even 30 minutes of pure sexual objectification in which men (I hear) identify erogenous zones they never knew they had, sometimes through exploration of the liminality of pain and pleasure or a kind of tantric play while relaxing in a leather hammock, or...

    Hmm, So OW, that's the reason you cancelled your morning hook-up, and self pleasured yourself instead?

    Crim, my guess is OW's basement has just about anything you could want from Fort Troff.

    My 120-year-old house does not have a basement, only a crawl space for raccoons and possums.

    Someone should put a thread up about BDSM. It would be interesting to see how many perverts are here.

    So according to Christian faith, it is OK to masturbate with images of hot gay porn inside your head...?

    If that is OK, why not take it a step further and enhance the fantasy by watching porn videos...?

    Then, let's take it a step further, if it is OK to see ijages of gay sex to sexually exite oneself, it is OK as long as you are not physically touching another man? Then how about attending a gay sex party, but just materbate and not touch or allow others to touch you..? This can be justified as only fantasy with real life visual stimulation...

    Is Christian faith trying to tell us what should turn us on sexually within our oen heads, within our own personal fantasy...?

    Also, just because one enjoys porn, does not mean one will be like Ted Bundy...

    Eh, Perversion has lost its edge. You heard about how heterosexuals are all about anal these days, right? There was an article about it.

    Well, when you go shopping with grandma at Fort Troff, Crim, then we really perversion has lost it's edge.

    NYCmuscle, how could you! Sex is for procreation and not pleasure, remember every sperm is sacred, so no mental images please. As for masturbation that is the sin of Onan, and all sorts of nasty things are supposed to happen to you if you indulge in that shadey pleasure.

    My belief is that God, if there's such a guy somewhere, does not care if we are heterosexual or homosexual as long as we are good loving persons.

    Religion as nothing to do with God, that is my profond belief.

    Religion has been created by men to enslave others. God has little to do with it.

    So, there's not one religion who's gonna tell me what to do with myself.

    I've got enough intelligence and common sense to be a good loving person without religion telling me what to do, what to think, etc.

    Sex is OK as long as you protect yourself and done between consenting adults.

    First They Came

    When the heterosexuals moved into our neighborhoods,
    I remained silent;
    I was not a realtor.

    When they pushed their strollers down our streets,
    I remained silent;
    I was not a parent.

    When they started wearing our Lucky Jeans,
    I did not speak out;
    I was not a fashionista.

    When they came for our favorite sex practice,
    I finally spoke out, "Bitch, you've got your own hole for THAT, back off! Leave us something."

    This poem is not my doing. I totally stole it from DB over at http://www.durbanbud.com/blog/archives/2007/07/when_they_came.html#comments

    Oh my God! Then I wasted all that sperm! I am a sinner.. But I heard that if you are Christian, and if yu pray and confess, then youare not accountable for your sins?

    So why not let me sin until when I die, then do just one prayer and one confession to rid of all my sinful doing...?

    One onfession takes care of all! I like that idea!

    You know me, this seems more logical and efficient!

    NYC, I think the Christians want you to MEAN it though. Sincerity in your confession gets you a spot on the cloud and a free shiny harp.

    Oh, I can make a confession and mean it...

    Because I see many others who make confessions, and they mean it, but then they go ahead and do the same sinful things again until the next confession!!

    So I guess you can "mean it" and feel sorry and repent, but as soon as the confession is over, you can sin again! Meaning it does not mean no more enjoyment... Whew!

    That is the thing about Christain faith...

    Making something human such as sexual fantasy and sexual orientation a "sin", you feel guilt, so therefore you are sincere with your guilt, but yet sionce it is human nature, you cannot help but do it again...

    The cycle of sin, guilt, repent, and repeat sin, what a great way to conduct life!
