Hurts to sit down after anal sex. Why?! Can anyone help!?

    Hi everyone,

I'll just dive right into it. So.. Saturday night, my boyfriend and I had sex twice within a few hours, and the second time was a bit more rough than usual not like crazy rough, just a bit hard and I was bottoming. The next morning I woke up in a lot of pain. I couldn't sit down properly without it being extremely sore. It looks a little swollen near my tailbone (coccyx) and that's where the pain seems to come from.

I've done TONS of research to the point where it's making me sick from worry and I've come up with two conclusions.

    1) Anal Fissure - I don't have any visible cuts or tears on the outside of my rectum but and when I go to the washroom I never saw blood (I made sure to look). No pain during bowel movements
After we had sex I noticed a little blood on the toilet paper when wiping up the lube but it was more spotting than heavy blood.

    2) Bruised/broken tailbone - Which seems strange I'm sure but apparently it can happen from anal sex, although rarely but of course it would happen to ME. lol

So.. it's Tuesday evening now, I'm a little scared.. I can run around and I went to class today, sat at a restaurant etc so the pain isn't debilitating but it's definitely a discomfort. Only when I sit and lean back to the pressure is on my tailbone.

Has anyone experienced this or know someone who has?! Please let me know I'm scared that maybe it could have caused permanent damage.

    Thanks guysicon_smile.gif

I also answered you in that other thread you posted to. But just to note how outdated it is, and so you might want to email directly the OP who had a similar problem previously. I realize you're new to RJ and may not be familiar with using this site. Click on the link below to reach his page, then select Send mail from the left sidebar.

Wish I could help you myself, but it's been many years since I injured my tailbone, and not during sex. I do remember it remained very tender for close to a week.

Didn't you say this was on a hard floor surface? Not sure if you could break any bones unless you were really slamming the floor, possibly just bruised yourself. A fissure could be more serious, but in any case see a doctor soon. Are you in college, have a campus clinic?

If a GP or PA cannot look inside your rectum for signs of fissure then they can give you a referral to specialist. And possibly take x-rays of your coccyx. Phone first thing tomorrow and ask if they recommend a simple painkiller until they see you, applying a cold compress, and anything else they might recommend you do or not do
