When can I look forward to not seeing any more of these Romney Gingrich bla bla candidate topics?

Being a non-American, and being someone who couldn't care if he tried about the politics.. when will the end come?

It seems like the talk about these people has been going for 6 months. How long does it take to just pick one??

For the people interested in USA's politics, do you get tired of hearing these names yourselves? I mean, I have interests but I will eventually get sick of hearing about them all the time wherever I go.

The primary will probably be over by June, possibly sooner.

It's only going to get worse -- so get use to it. Won't end until after election in November --- and it's not going to be pretty along the way. icon_eek.gif

And after the election there will be a period of bitterness and angst, I predict from the left. This won't be a pleasant place.

Right. We'd only bitch if we lose.
You people will declare the election invalid and get your militias out into the streets for an open insurrection.

Well if we lost, than all of us, that is the best and brightest, you know, the 1%, would transfer our money and jobs out of the country, the rest of you could give yourselves all the entitlements, but without the success engine generating taxable income, you would borrow more until China cut you off, then you'd legalize opium, imbibe, not realizing you were getting hungry, but would remain dumb and complacent until you all starved. Then we would come back, resurrect the country from the ashes of your ruin and build a new society.

Are you FUCKING kidding me?? Why have they been doing all of this campaigning a whole YEAR in advance?? Why don't they just take a 6-month vacation before starting all of this crap?

Seriously, no one will vote for them because we'll all be sick of hearing about them by the time voting happens.

Another question.. it seems like we're only hearing about republican .. uh candidates? Are the democrats also doing this now?

The current president is a Democrat, so he is the default candidate for the next election because he is in his first term. The party won't run presidential primaries until the 2016 elections.

Given you are Canadian, what's with the "we'll"? It is an international forum, but there are a significant number of US Citizens. The thread titles are reasonably descriptive, so why not just skip over the threads that don't interest you?

Yes, and of course THAT will be a regular joyfest --- nothing but lots of Kumbaya'ing and love, not a nasty word spoken or negative ad to be found icon_rolleyes.gif

I doubt that. All the candidates that run are mud slinging egomaniacs who only care about serving their own interests - party affiliation doesn't matter in that regard.
