    So, here's the scoop!

I go to the gym at the same time monday-saturday and I see this guy at the same time about 4 times a week. I find him very attractive... lol

Anyway, from what I know he notices me because we share glances quite frequently, and by glance I mean a second or so of eye contact. Like when he or I are walking to the water fountain or going to get weights/put them back.

The other day when I was lifting, we were basically working out next to each other the entire time.. (I think) either because he was coming to workout next to me or I was going to workout next to him. And since then when I see him we are usually working out on the benches next to each other depending on if it isn't too crowded.

So, I have been thinking about saying something but I don't want to be that guy that compiles a bunch of hopeful observations into something that doesn't exist... lol

If only there was a hand signal or something.. lol

thanks guys! have a good one!!

Stop analyzing, go up and say hey how's it going when you first see him. Take it from there with gym or facility related comments. If nothing exists there you'll know pretty quick and then you won't have to worry about it anymore.

same situation with a gym crush. always sneaking looks at me (and vice versa). i'm not sweating it though...conversation will happen organically icon_cool.gif

you should just wait and see what happens. if the conversation comes naturally it'll be better than if you have to force a pick up line or something

Seems like you both go to the gym by urselves and have matching schedules. The obvious thing would be for you to start a conversation with him and ask him what he usually works out so you can guys be gym buddies. Then take it from there

OK Nick, grow a damn pair will you. first of all, find out if he is gay. here is what you do. introduce yourself the next time you two are working out. how do you do this? how about asking for a spot on the bench or speaking to him when you two are at the water fountain. since you both come to the gym at the same time. why don't you ask if he would be interested in working out together. tell him you can use someone to push you during your workouts. Now go and let meknow how it goes jeeze, its not that hard people

start with a "sup" and a head nod.

If he responds, make small talk and progress from there.

Anybody who makes or even considers any attempt at social contact in the gym gets that message.

I guess some Costa Concordia passengers wish they were regulars on these boards.

Just say hello when next you see him... maybe something like, " hey, I see ya made it... have a great workout"... something innocent to break the ice. Maybe next time he will return the greeting...

I feel the same way. I always want to say something but my shyness decides to kick me in the ass. I like the advice.

    And the answer is....

DONT APPROACH THE GUY. DONT ACCEPT ADVANCES FROM THE GUY.

If you cant approach the guy in a good-natured, friendly way without all this drama, you arent ready to meet him.

Apparently, just saying "hi" and starting at the level of gym acquaintences is beyond your ability to cope. So cool it. And wait until you can pull yourself together. Dont mess up his time at the gym.

    Okay.
    1. DON'T WAIT! The longer you wait, the more this will turn into a "thing", and the bigger the disappointment if it doesn't work out. Also, be aware that if you stare at someone, they're gonna stare bk cuz they wanna see if you're staring at them lol. That happens sometimes.
    2. JUST DO IT! Just say "Hey, we see each other at the gym all the time. We should totally grab a drink sometime" ,and then see what he says. Whether he's gay or straight, he will most likely take you up on the offer. Also, don't eyeball stalk him before or after you pop the question, keep it cool not creepy.

ps: let me know how it goes!

Good luck man. If he's anything like the paranoid guys at my gym, as soon as you strike up conversation, he'll go out of his way to start talking about women and pussy!

Yeah, that about sums it up man. Playing the waiting game is a lose/lose tactic. Be a man about it and just start a conversation with the dude and whatever happens happens.

Why are guys such pussies when it comes to talking to other dudes? I swear some of you guys need to grow thicker skin and just deal with it if you get rejected. It's a part of life and everyone has experienced it at least once in their life in some situation. Does it hurt? Only if you let it and feel the opinion of that person in question mattered.

OP, you'll be fine if you follow the wise and simple steps as shown above.

    Best of luck.
